So last night at church the most amazing thing occurred - and I'm not really sure why I should be suprised by it - but truthfully it did suprise me.
I along with Ginger teach the 4-7 year old boys and girls on Wednesday Night Bible Study -- we have been teaching them about creation and Adam and Eve for the past several weeks but have also been teaching them scriptures from the new testament -- over a month ago now I really wanted to get them started on learning all scriptures so I gave them a short one to get them started in John 11:35 Jesus wept -- well then I thought lets move on to one that will really challenge them so I gave them John 3:16 - then last week because they have all been doing so great on it - I added John 3:17 -- last night at church - I asked them about these scriptures -- and almost everyone in that class could tell me word for word what the scriptures said -- but not only that -- they could tell me about creation and about Adam and Eve.
See I at first thought that maybe I might be "overloading" them a bit - with so much Word at one time -- but then I got to thinking -- how else are they going to learn "Word" if we don't teach it to them - and it's not like I just stand up there and lecture we interact - and doing games and activities and even our snack time is a learning time.
I just thank God that He allowed me to see a "little fruit" last night in class -- those children so amaze me and knowing some of their family backgrounds even more thrills me - because if they are saying it at church - then they have to be saying it at home too -- I can't wait to see what is going to come of these children "preaching Jesus" by quoting the scriptures to their families.
God is indeed amazing !
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
