| Last year I got to see something that most people will never see in a lifetime. There is this man that comes down to a lake that is close to where I live and sets up his telescope to view the stars, planets & galaxies. I was walking our little dachshund dog one evening and this man was getting ready to set up his telescope. So I took our little dachshund dog back to the house because it was just early dusk time and not dark yet. After about 1 to 2 hours I went down back to the lake and this man had his telescope all set up and ready to go. I got to look at the moon first and could see all the craters on the moon with great detail. When it got a little darker outside I got to look at the planet Saturn with the rings around it. I could see the fiery orange-red like planet with the rings around it. Truly an awesome site to see. You know it is there but until you actually see it, it just blows your mind away. When it got darker we could Saturn so much better. Really a sight to see. But that was just the beginning of the stargazing that night. This man decided to show me cluster galaxies and clusters of millions of stars. Then we got to look at M5 galaxy because it was dark enough to see it. M5 galaxy is about 26,400 light years from earth. That is about 155,020,884,480,000,000 miles from the earth. For those of you who do not know what a light year is, that is the distance that light will travel in one year's time. It is about 6 trillion miles that light will travel in one year's time. We also got to look at a galaxy that was just a hop, skip and a jump in astronomical terms. It was 550 light years away and was much brighter because it was closer to the earth. The next thing I am going to share with you will just totally amaze you. The Lord God has given mankind the ability to see a black hole nebula about 13.7 billion light years away from the earth using very powerful telescopes. Do you know how far 13.7 billion light years is away from earth--here it is: 80535447454677185238208.860256104 miles. Now that is a far piece folks.
