| Don't worry...it'll be over before you know it... |

I broke a tooth. Getting old stinks. The body starts falling apart...literally. Wish I had a great story. I don't. I broke a tooth biting on a Tic Tac. A coworker suggested I sue Tic Tac because they don't have a warning on the box. Yeah, like that will bring my tooth back. I kept the part that broke off. Guess I thought the dentist could glue it back. Nope. Some things can't be replaced once they are damaged.
However, we can take what is left and rebuild it. That is what they told me. I believed them. Didn't have to go read a million books to be convinced. No. Others have had it done and their new, rebuilt tooth is as good as new...even better than it was before. I even had a choice. I was given a choice in how my new tooth would look. It could be shiny gold or off-white like the rest of them. Shiny gold didn't sound like me, so I went with the traditional (and perhaps boring) off-white.
Yesterday I sat in the chair and from the bottom looking up, this is what I saw...

It didn't look like fun. No, I was rather intimidated. But others had gone through this, so I figured I could too. I closed my eyes, said a prayer and let them do what they had to do.
Within about 20 minutes, it was all done. My new tooth was in place. When I looked at it, it was better than the old one. It stood out as something special. It was indeed something the master had created and the repair was complete. My new tooth was better and stronger than my old one. All it took was admitting I needed the new tooth, putting faith in the one who could repair the old, and then allowing myself to be changed.
Ummm...sound like something else? 3:20 ...the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body... |

Dawn, you said... "stronger than it was before" -- trials are like that...amen!! Some times I hate the anticipation. Like Jan said, the fear can be overwhelming. Yet, I have learned that when God is getting ready to do a work, then the best thing for me is to "sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride (as best I can)". Maybe it comes with age, but I have learned to trust Him...doesn't mean I don't ask a lot of questions, but the heart-trust is there.
Thanks for all of your comments. |
