Updates in blue font Prayer needs posted November 27, 2008 Hi everyone, I hope u are all enjoying Thanksgiving Day and dinner as the day winds down for many of you. Here on the west coast it is still early :-) I'm praying with those on MC who request prayer. I also have a few prayer requests of my own and would be grateful if you would stand in the gap with me for these people. 1. a friend I haven't seen in a long time is now near death in palliative care. she has cancer which spread throughout the body. soon they will move her to hospice care. i just found this out the other day. please pray for her, her name is Caroline B. Also pray for the children she fosters that they would find a good home, for her only daughter and all the grandchildren, for strength, and any other physical and material needs they have. Update Friday, Nov. 28/08: I plan to visit Caroline Sunday if the hospital will permit me. Pray I would have the appropriate words of comfort and encouragement in this situation. Sunday, Nov. 30/08: I was not able to visit my friend today as I still have a cold n considered contagious. Caroline is very weak and probably cannot handle too much activity at this point...there are so many people from our days at university together who want to see her. I pray that all will go according to the will of God and that the family will be able to have peace in this situation...continue praying for them all. God bless. Wednesday, January 13, 2009: I never did get to visit my friend Caroline when she was in the hospital. I was advised by the nurses that she could see family only. I just received a message in a roundabout way through friends, that Caroline has now been moved to palliative care in a cottage in the outskirts of the city. She left word that she wants to see me. I feel a bit scared by what I will see...and my body is still not that strong. Please pray for me...that I would be strong and be able to share some love with her in these difficult times. Normally I am not afraid of these things but for some reason I am this time. Pray also for her family members. 2. a student friend of mine from Kenya asked me yesterday to pray 4 a job for him as he can't afford to carry on in january with high cost of school fees, accomodation and food. i asked him to send me his costs so i could seek prayers on his behalf. his total needs from jan-april would be around $800. US. His name is Enock and he is about 20 years of age. please pray with me for his needs. He is going to Bible college and studying business. We are believing for total healing of the body's many ailments. For today we pray for the strength and courage to get thru the day's appointments. I praise God that the daily nose bleeds and major loss of blood has stopped! Thank u for prayers. Update Thursday, Nov. 20/08: Well momma was able to get out today to her doctor b4 her doctor takes a long vacation. It is her first outing all alone on her electric wheelchair and she is still not comfortable driving it. Along the way, there were problems with the wheelchair malfunctioning but praise to God with the kindness of strangers and handicapped bus attendants she was able to get safely to town and back to home. She is grateful for the prayers as she really feels them. Also, praise the Lord, her nose has stopped bleeding for 3 straight days! This was so concerning as she has lost a lot of blood over the past weeks so we really thank God for the answer to this. We will continue to pray and give thanks. I THANK YOU all for being there in prayer. I pray a special blessing on your day and grace and favour for you all. I THANK GOD THAT WE CAN COME DAILY TO HIS THRONE OF GRACE AND THAT WE CAN DINE WITH HIM DAILY. I GIVE HIM ALL GLORY AND PRAISE. Love in Christ to you and your households, ~ sis Penny |
