God is wonderful.  If that ain't a living person, I don't know what is.  My new grandson just turned 3 weeks old, outside of the womb.  Thank you for your post.  Yours in Christ.  Earl

Earl:  Amen.  As Horton the Who said:  "A person's a person, no matter how small."

God says.
"when you were in your mother's womb I knew you.
He has also stated in scripture I knew you before the foundation of the world.

That's before 12 wks in the womb. Let us pray for the Unborn...

In His Grace,
Pastor Cornelia

Amen, it is a baby from time of conception, not just unwanted tissue to get rid of at will.

The abolitionists, who stood courageously against human slavery, also were made to look foolish.  We believers are called by Paul, "fools for Christ."

Whether I look wise or whether I look foolish, I must speak out against the killing of innocent prenatal children.

Thanks for expressing your opinions, Dan.  All the best to you.

Dan:  The Christian right disagrees with many of my positions.  I don't have much faith in politics as a way to bring about morality.  I believe we who trust in Christ must speak the truth in love and pray for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit in our nation.  God's conviction can bring us to repentance.

Anyone (right or left) who reads the Bible can see that the killing of the unborn is not a Christian position.  The Word says that God formed us in the womb.  If we obeyed God's rules for human sexuality, we Americans wouldn't feel any need to kill our innocent children.

Bulidings where doctors slaughter innocent prenatal babies are nothing to brag about, Dan.  God have mercy on us.

There once was a man and a woman who decided it was time for their son to have a sibling. But, the tests kept showing negative. Then she miscarried that negative test result, at home. She held that baby gently in her hands as she was taken to the hospital. She was four months pregnant, the baby lived only two months of that time. The doctor told her it was ok.....it wasn't a baby yet. But, she had held this child in her hands, she had carried this child inside of her, this child looked like a baby, even at eight weeks, it had everything a baby has. She told the doctor that it may have not been a baby to him, but it was to her.....and the baby was her flesh and blood. She came home depressed, and then got the paperwork from the hospital......spontaneous abortion. The word "abortion" hit this young woman like a ton of bricks.....and she went into depression deeper.
This lady was me. I held proof in my hands, ever so gently, that it is a life, it is a baby. I am firmly against abortion, because I held my child, whom through no fault of my own, I aborted.

I have been there, I have seen, I have held that precious child, that people say isn't a child.....just a fetus. Every woman who has an abortion should have to look at and hold the child they aborted.

We have to be very careful with this topic because it is easy to condemn what we all once were: a child of wrath even as the rest of mankind (Ephesians 2).  As we know, a child is a child from conception and will become a grownup unless something prevents it.

Again, we are to judge those who are inside the Church not those who are outside [1 Cor 5]; those outside God judges and in fact abortion of ones own child is the judgment of God as defined in Romans 1.  We are supposed to be preaching the Good News to the woman who just aborted her child.  If a woman does not abort her child and follows the ten commandments to the best of her ability she will go to hell, not heaven.  If a woman has an abortion as an unbeliever or as a Christian and changes her mind about what she did and confesses her sin and judges herself she will not be condemned but will end up in heaven.

We Christians love this issue because it is easy to use unbelievers--who are acting exactly like we did when we were unbelievers--to justify our own supposedly lesser sins like gossip, disrespect of authority (like Obama, etc.), disobedience to parents, etc.  "Look at me, I haven't had an abortion!  Thank you God I'm not like these filthy heathen women who kill their own babies!"  That heathen woman will see the Kingdom before we do if that is the attitude of our heart!

Sincerely,
Craig

We can speak out for innocent human being without condemning those who want to kill them.  However, to turn our heads and look away is not wise.  The next group of innocent human beings to be on America's hit list will probably be the elderly and infirm in nursing homes.  They may someday be proclaimed by the Supreme Court to be nothing but the residue of a person.  If we tell people not to have their elderly parents killed, will that be condemning them?

So I guess we should get all those women saved Steve and then the problem would go away. :-)

As it is, it is legal, and the only thing that our condemnation achieves it to alienate sinners...the very ones that Jesus came to save.  Ranting against the problem does not save a single child.  Why not go and give something to the Crisis Pregnancy Center or preach the Good News and actually do something rather than rant about other peoples sins as if that is going to change a single heart.  Let's go get our sign and stand out in front of the abortion clinic and then report how many women came to Christ through our efforts. Zero.  Now go down to the Crisis Pregnancy Center nearest you and find how many children are saved because their mothers are saved.  :-)

Well, Earthen, perhaps we should follow the examples of Jesus, John the Baptist, and Simon Peter and preach "Repent."  Did their preaching repentance "alienate sinners"?

:-D  Steve, what were they told to "change their mind or purpose" (which is what metanoia means) about?

3:2 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel."

They weren't getting beat over the head with the law.  Come on Steve!  :-)  The woman who was caught in the very act of adultery was not harangued with "Turn or burn!  Repent, you slut!"  And after saying that He did not condemn her He did say "Go and sin no more."  He didn't say that first!  <sigh>
