14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
As I think about the last five months on my Journey, one day of Thanksgiving just isn't enough. I have to look back at all the days when there was only one set of FOOT PRINTS in the sand and I Thank God for carrying me through those days.
I also have to Thank God for the Angels He sent by way of Phone Calls, Fellowships over a meal, Many Many Cards, and Yes, even the Internet. As my Journey continue at this new level I have to give thanks to God for the Strength He has given ME. I have to Thank Him for the Relationship that we now have, I have to Thank Him for the Transformation and Joy.
Oh I still have those "Not so Good Moments" that sneaks into my day, but I can't help but Praise Him in those times too. I know it's nothing but Satan coming to try to steal my Joy. he tried last night but Me and My God got the Victory.
Awesome God, that's what I have to keep saying to myself over and over and over again. Family and Friends stop waiting for people to call, or stop by only to be disappointed. If we just look around and feel His Presence, Give Him Thanks and Praise then we will have His Peace, Joy, Love and Blessings.
My Bishop preached many Great sermons. More than once in his sermons over the twenty-six years that I have been at NPBC I have heard him mention a prayer that goes like this.
"Lord take it off my HEART... like you put it on my HEART".....(whatever you "it' is. make it clear)
This is a very powerful prayer and I had no idea until I prayed it. IT WORKS...AMAZING.
I do have to say this ... DO NOT PRAY THIS PRAYER UNLESS YOU REALLY ARE SINCERE ABOUT REMOVING "IT" FROM YOUR LIFE.

| I can identify with "stop waiting for people to call, or stop by only to be disappointed". I recently was disappointed by someone I love who said that I spend too much time doing other things, such as church, instead of visiting them. But I eventually calmed down when I thought about what a Great God we serve. A God that I can feel his presence whenever I call his name "JESUS". As our Pastor says, I get a quickening just coming into the House of the Lord, or just thinking about all he has done for me. So I agree wholeheartedly when you say by thanking Him it will give you peace, joy, & blessings in return. Thank You for the encouragement. |
