6:8 knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. For all we don't know about the next life, this much is certain. The day Christ comes will be a day of reward. Those who went unknown on earth will be known in heaven. Those who never heard the cheers of men will hear the cheers of angels. Those who missed the blessing of a father will hear the blessing of their heavenly Father. The small will be great. The forgotten will be remembered. The unnoticed will be crowned and the faithful will be honored. The winner's circle isn't reserved for a handful of the elite, but for a heaven full of God's children who "Will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him" James 1:12 NIV
Max Lucado
This was my devotional this morn. Have you ever noticed that on this earth when you do a good deed, people sometimes quickly forget it, or expect something even bigger out of you? Thank you Lord, that You don't forget.
I was blessed at times to step into roles of people who are unnoticed by those on earth. I filled in for the janitor at church, while he took a much needed vacation. I cleaned toilets, I dusted, I picked up gum wrappers, I vacuumed......and I realized that his work here was very important.
I filled in for the church secretary and saw why she was worn out at the end of the day, alot of people would think this is an elite job.....NOT. It's a job to be prayed up about every morning.
There were so many times in Ken's life that his father cursed him, instead of blessing him.....our heavenly Father is NOT that way. The greeter at the door of church, stands there to welcome us into God's house, not much glory in that in our eyes.....but God smiles.
The prayer warriors behind the scenes in our lives.....not much recognition.....but when Jesus comes back......oh my, the cheers of angels!
Don't get downtrodden over unnoticed things you do out of the love you have for the Lord........keep pressing on........your reward is coming, my friend, it's coming! |

| Yesterday I pulled up the socks of an elderly lady w/Alzheimers, as she struggled to pull them up herself during our worship service at the assisted living ctr. I'm sure she won't remember the deed. Nevertheless it reminded me a little of Jesus washing feet, and I was very blessed by the experience. |

| Umm, I can relate to what you've written Cinder's. When life steps you into the unnoticed, that's when God notices the things that go unnoticed. |

| Dan: Ohhhhhhhh I amen that one!!!!!! I've seen so many women feel pressured to over involve themselves in ministries.....and they burn out or their children don't get what they need from them........and you bring up a good point.....children are the greatest ministry and how many mothers go unnoticed in bringing up Godly children......but one day, when Christ comes back, they'll be standing in that winner's circle! |

| This doctor once asked me , what do I do with old household items and clothes. I told him I find a shelter, or if someone had a fire and lost everything, or drop them off at a church that had give aways. He wanted to know how I get to use it as a tax write off and I told him I don't. (he was a Jewish Doctor) I said "Jesus paid it all". |

It warms my heart to do what some people would call small tasks... Comforting a child who has autism or some other childhood disease(I work with disabled kids). Helping someone older than me to walk across the church to pray. Giving a dollar or two to someone who is on the streets. Giving a word of encouragement, praying that it was heard.
So often the small things are overlooked, yet they mean so much to the person who is receiving.
Father, Never, ever let me forget that we all are your children and deserve favor from each other.
Love you more Sis |

dan i can so relate to that and how it makes a mother feel when she goes unnoticed for the little things she does like taking care of her children and bringing them up in a christian home/family and being there for her kids and yes we do try to get too involved in ministry because it is what we think we should be doing but it is more important to be bringing ur child up in the way of the lord and in a good bible believing christ like christian home and giving them encouragement and love and lifting them up and helping them with their home work and having a bible study with the kids but on their level and playing with them and taking them out and having one on one time with each of ur children and bringing them up in such a way that they know how to be polite and considerate and curdious and caring and loving and helping and teaching them to be well behaved and eloquent for the lord my god and also teach them to be generous and giving more than recieving and being as christ to others and praying for them and helping the homeless and the poor and doing ministry in the church when u have the time and u can do that and be with ur children if they have children when they grow up and how to clean the house doing chores and how to be there for others and serve others too thanks sister cinders i love u very very much and ur a real sister to me in my heart and i am very glad u have a heart after gods own heart that ur seeking him everyday and u warmed my heart with ur message and i love everything u've ever written thanks so very much for blessing me today with god's word and with ur words u wrote from the lord ur god amen |

| If I were to short-cut Dans remarks - its family, God, and church. I have personally witnessed people putting church first, followed by God, followed by the family. And without putting a too finer point on it, although juggling around the first two (God followed by doing church stuff, compared to church and God stuff) its the family that suffers every-time. |

aww, this blog makes me think of times that I've actually clued in to those important but unnoticed jobs...like when I noticed the cleaning lady had dusted the trim all around the building -- and said, "Wow, you got there, too!" She was so surprised that I noticed it! *giggle* I think God must have brought it to my attention, 'coz I sure don't notice it around here. Anyhow, I love it when people see their jobs "as unto the LORD" and perform those jobs with excellence! Sure blesses my heart! |
