December 6 “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are his offspring.” Acts 17:28 Our challenge today! If you’re a believer in Jesus Christ and have accepted him as your Lord and savior then you are his offspring. It’s true that all are his children in the sense that we are all created to be in his image and likeness, but not all choose to live in his image and likeness and for this cause they choose not to be his offspring. It’s not God that chooses this for any, but rather some who choose this for themselves. For those that believeth on him they have become the sons of God. This is much different than merely stating that one believes. The devil believes and trembles! And of course the devil is not God’s offspring living and moving and having his being in Christ! We are God’s offspring and the devil hates that! Therefore he tries to destroy us by causing us to leave God’s side. Each day examine your life and check to see if you are living and moving and having your being in Jesus!
8:6 To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, indeed it cannot; 8:8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. |
