| This book changed my way of thinking... |

Don Richardson is one of those people who has been there. He has been "to the uttermost parts" and has documented what he has learned, seen, and experienced. While others sit in their "ivory towers" of sorts and study scripture, Don has been a doer of the word. His classic, Peace Child, is an excellent book and should be read by every believer with a call to the mission field.
I believe this book should be read by everyone. Here Don explores people groups all over the world and what missionaries encountered when they met with them. This is built around a scripture in Ecclesiastes:
3:11 He hath made everything beautiful in its time: also he hath set eternity in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God hath done from the beginning even to the end. His premise is that all men are created with a desire to worship a God and because God reveals Himself in His creation, many know of Him, but don't know Him. It is the missionaries job to communicate God to the peoples in such a way that they understand. Many of the people groups he explores had legends that are very similar to Bible stories, and some had legends that people would come visiting that would reveal the true God.
These stories are real faithbuilders and gives the reader a glimpse at how awesome God is. I met Don Richardson and his wife several years ago. I told them how this book had changed my way of thinking about the lost...how God had placed it in their hearts to find Him and I just needed to help...Don smiled and said, "Yeah. Makes it sound easy doesn't it?" Well, it isn't easy. Some people live with a people group for many years looking for that one breakthrough that will allow them to communicate the gospel. I was inspired, though, that God has placed eternity in their hearts already. Gave me a whole new light on "loving my neighbor" and determining how God has put eternity in their heart.
This book, and all of Don Richardson's books, are written at the college level. They are a little difficult to read, but for those who stick with it and read all the way through, they are certainly inspiring.
