When I was a little boy(some 40 years ago) This was one of my favorite songs.As grew older and would meditate on God's Word,this song would come to mind occassionlly.LIGHT of The World,continually rose to the top of my meditation. 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. And then this 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
"As long as I(Jesus) is in the world"...Is Jesus in the world.We are HIS example,disciples if you will.If this is the case,how are you doing??? 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
or this 11:1 Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
As people of all persuasions are aware of "CHRISTMAS",shouldn't we be more aware of our actions. 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Matthew 5:15 KSV or 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth [it] in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
How many times have you heard a person say:"My faith is a personal matter and I keep to myself"??? This is ridiculous!!!! As people are out and about hustling and bustling around,let them see some"patientence","courtesy","compassion" and most of all infused into all of this"LOVE". I believe that is one of the best ways to honor our "SAVIOUR"this time of year....Jimmie says:One of the best ways to tell if a person is SAVED, is that a person can't keep it to themselves"!!! |

Folks who are in love with the Lord (I mean really in love w/him) don't want to keep it to themselves...at least that's what I've seen. They want to let "it shine"! Faith is never merely a personal matter to em. If someone says this to us, maybe we should try to address their deeper spiritual issues? Good post Jimmie! |
