| Ahhhhoooooo! or Listen for the Wolf |
|
| |

7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Earlier this year, my husband and I were at Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA, where Pastor Jentezen Franklin preached on this verse that day. He gave several illustrations, but one in particular stuck with us.
He told a story of a man who had a woman in his office who was interested in him. She flirted with him on a daily basis, complimenting him and boosting his confidence. Pastor Franklin outlined a conversation, highlighting particularly what the woman said, since the was the pursuer in this case. He said, "The woman might have only said to the man, 'You look so handsome today; your wife is a lucky woman,' but what the man should have heard was, 'Ahhhhoooooo!!'" In other words, we should be proactively listening for wolves in sheep's clothing.
Ever since that sermon, the wolf's howl has become a running joke with Michael and me, but also a signal between us. If we are together and one of us senses that a person is not being completely truthful or even deceitful; or if one of us describes a situation or a comment that the other finds inappropriate; we will whisper to the other, "Ahhhhoooooo!!"

It's just a funny little inside joke, but can also be a signal that one of us is showing more discernment than the other.
5:14 But solid food is for fullgrown men, `even' those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.

| The picture just happens to look like what's happening in the megachurches. Oh, don't be so judgemental, I can't help it. You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears, lemons don't grow on orange trees.I'm alright your alright messages are miss leading. There's preacher that will smile you into hell with there pretty messages. |

| Yes I'm quick to shut someone down when they are attempting to flatter. The devil will use people to see how far they can run with something. We cannot be ignorant of satan's devices and we must keep our guard up! |

How true! The sad part is a lot of people seem to be deaf when it comes to picking up the "wolf howl" in false praise. :) |

Good one -- and I love the code word to prompt you to be attentive! Ahhhhooooo!!! Sometimes there's something that will happen with one of the men at church that is really outstanding -- or deeply touches my heart..but I don't feel comfortable going to the man to say so. I go to his wife instead and tell her how much it ministered to me. I don't want anything to be misconstrued! |

Miz Joey, Bro Todd and SugaHollywoodPeanutButterChicken...thanks for reading and commenting!
Praise Temple...you are right, I have seen and heard some of those feel good preachers, and that's not what we need to hear!
Prophet Jay...absolutely we must keep our guard up. I am one that always sees the good in people, sometimes even to the point that I get deceived by them. I pray regualrly for spiritual discernment. |
