I totally agree!  Mormonism is thery definiton of a cult. They transend mere doctrinal difference. What the average person doesn't know is that they believe Christ and Satan are brothers. I said in a myspace religious chatroom that mormonism was a cult and they went nuts. I cited the dissappearance of key figures in the 70's or the 3% with "temple rites" and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

I am originally from Western New York State where they anually gather to commemorate Where and when Joseph Smith received his " vision" .

They claim the book of mormon is a missing "testament" yet the final chapter of revelation declares the finished work.

Clearly , the devil comes as an agel of lightand what better way than a false doctrin leading the lost away from salvation.

Kudos for this blog!!!!!!

A vote for Romney is a vote for a Mormon! We must remember that the original Mormon, Joseph Smith ran for President as well so this is in keeping. They've always tried to run whatever place they are in. Now, if they were in charge we might get the dreaded ecclesiocracy that everyone always gets mixed up with theocracy and truly be in trouble, who knows.

Hey, King, I went to High School and got a Masters in Western NY and we did not live far from Palmyra so have been in contact with many of the early purists. There were quite a few that never went with Smith to Mo. and into Utah still around there that followed alternative family members, etc.

One thing that modern Mormons are confused about is about multiple marriage. The first 3 presidents of Mormonism all believed and preached it. The true Mormons are those that have multiple wives or believe in it still but they are often relegated to the side. They have whole multiple wife communities like Bountiful in Canada or Colorado City. This is very akin to the Faithful Moslems who follow the Quran...what Bush inaccurately calls fanatical Moslems. No, these are the faithful who follow their scripture. Only a fraction of Moslems read the Quran. When they do and believe they become violent and militant if they are true followers.

Sorry to get off the subject but the similarity between Moslems, Mormons and Masons is uncanny to me!

Glad you are visiting Palmyra Aaron!
