I have never had the most glamorous secular jobs. I served in the military for 9 yrs and since then I have worked mostly in a warehouse settings, Now I am a warehouse manager in Edmonton, and a lot of my friends in the ministry have asked me to accept paid ministry positions. I have always turned them down. The reason being I felt personally that I did not want to confuse my love for ministry work with my need for money. I just wanted to pay my own way.
The problem that arose was that my ego would try to take over and say I could have a better job, more money etc.... Slowly though I began to see that my job did not in anyway define who I was as a person my actions and my relationship with God defined me.
I am sure there are many people out there who are in the same boat as I was, to them I say God loves as you are it does not matter if you work at McDonalds or are the CEO of a multinational company. We are all held close in the Father's mighty arms. BE PROUD!!!!
