9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah foretells that a virgin would bring forth a child and his name shall be called God with us.( Immanuel ) In the text we read that unto us a child was born, foretelling the birth of one called Jesus Christ. ( God with Us ) The Bible is very precise in that it says a Son would be given. During this Christmas season, it's important to note that God had a purpose in sending this child unto us. Isaiah says, the government shall be upon his shoulders. This messages is vital in that America has elected a new president that many think the government will be upon his shoulders. Sadly enough the best any man can do is fail, unless God has placed that man in that position. Back to "unto us" is given one that shall be called Wonderful. Jesus Christ who went about healing all manners of sickness, I don't know about you but to me that sounds wonderful. Especially, if I were the one that He healed."Unto us" He shall be called a counselor, that's someone you can put your trust in to share the thoughts of your heart. "Unto us" He shall be called the mighty God, hanging on a cross and being mocked, He could have called down legions of angels. He could have said come forth at the graveside of Lazarus and emptied every grave there. Almighty God spoke to demons and put the fear of God in them, they would not question his authority, they knew He was almighty. "Unto Us" the everlasting Father, Jesus was flesh, but Jesus was God. Philip ask of Jesus to show him the Father, Jesus response was the Father and I are one. God does not have a beginning, Jesus is and Jesus was and Jesus always will be, for he is God."Unto us" The Prince of Peace, Isaiah speaks of this child and this Son as one that can bring about true peace. The nations of the world have signed agreement after agreement to bring about peace, yet the world has known two World Wars. Jesus is really the only means of peace, lasting peace. They will turn their swords into farming equipment, the lion will lie down with the lamb. They will study war no more, peace real genuine peace.Isaiah says, that under Jesus Christ government there shall be no decrease, the government shall increase the curse will be lifted. When Adam and Eve sinned God cursed the ground, God told Adam that by his sweat would he make a living from a soil that once produced abundantly. The trees that hung full of all manner of fruit ceased to be abundant."Unto us" Jesus will establish the eternal kingdom that was promised unto David. Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you and where I am that ye might be also.Angels questioned, Why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye seen him go into heaven. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. The zeal of the Lord of host shall perform this, for it's not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord. Your in better hands than All State Insurance by being in Christ Jesus.
