What a verse for Christmas, and Isaiah 9:6 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. one of my favorite Christmas verses. We were talking about what Jesus has done in our life in Sunday school yesterday and I answered (being only 9 years old after being born again) my life has turned 180 degrees. I used to use profanity every other word, had tried to stop and when I finally turned my life over to Him, guess what stopped. I look over the nine years and the way my steps have been lead, the people He has brought into my life, the decisions I have handed over to him and the paths I've traveled thinking this was what he wanted me to do only to find out nope, go here or this way again. The group Seals and Croft wrote a song titled We may never pass this way again. I reminded how true that is, it's just a good thing that Jesus left us the comforter and His book, the operating manual for life is here. One other thought for this time of year, I think of the verses in Luke 2:8-18. I think the angles had just told them, the shepherds, of the birth of the Messiah, and here they had to discuses it before they went. I wounder how many people would even go to see the child if the angles appeared to them. Remember without his birth, we would have no resurrection. Merry CHRISTMAS, and Happy Birthday Jesus! |
