| What if today is the day... |
|
| |
I am reminded that none of us knows the day or the hour.
What if the only thing worth living for today is hearing the Father say "well done"...
Who knows, maybe tonight we'll walk the streets of gold...
Maybe tonight we'll see the pierced hands and feet, and gaze into the face of the One who saved us...
Maybe today absolutely nothing else matters... (Some poignant thoughts concerning expectant living from "Maybe", a song I just listened to by The Kry...)
When I wrote this blog, I was convicted that we simply cannot be reminded often enough that God could return at ANY time! Or instead, he could take us, or our family, friends, neighbors, etc. at ANY time. We are always a breathe away from eternity, and given how fragile life is, it is incomprehensibly foolish to go a day, or even an hour or minute, without being fully prepared to meet God face to face! Let us live in joyful ANTICIPATION!!! 24:42 Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. |

Reminds me of one of my favorite songs...let's see if you can guess who it's by... "One of these days, I'm gonna see the hands that took the nails for me One of these days, I'm gonna hold the key to the mansion built for me One of these days, I'm gonna walk the streets of gold that were paved for me One of these days, I'm gonna see my Savior face to face One of these days..." And on a sidenote, we have the privelege of having the two founding brothers of the Kry both on staff at our church (www.calvarycch.org) -- Yves LeJoie is the "College & Career" pastor, and Jean-Luc is the worship leader. And yes, they're both a tremendous blessing, and their musical talents are just a side plus... :) |

| Jason, no way dude! Man that's awesome! I'll bet they lead worship frequently. Am I right? :-) They're extremely talented, I had the pleasure of attending a service at Calvary Chapel Redlands (Cal.) led by The Kry. It was really a great experience, you guys are blessed. ~mike |

Jean-Luc leads worship most every week, but Yves has his plate full being in doing C&C during services. It's a mixed blessing, as we've always had really worshipful guys leading worship at CC Chino Hills, but they all have their slightly different styles (as all musically-blessed people do), and there are always people who say "I like what Don does better" or "I wish so-and-so was still dong worship" -- people being fickle as they are. SIlly people...just come in and let the Lord work with your heart and give everything you have to Him! |

| Thanks Rosie! You know, this is a simple post, but it's something I could stand to be reminded of every single day. I wonder how many choices I would make differently if I thought this way all of the time?? ~mike |

| Motor, I tried to download "One of these days" as my ringtone for my phone, I paid and it gave me "It's Still the Cross" instead. Never did find out what happened, it just gave me an entirely different song. Oh well, I called and wound up getting "Friend of God." |

| Sue, having that as a ringtone would certainly be an awesome reminder every time someone calls that one of these days, I'm gonna see the hands that took the nails for me...if I find a place that has the ringtone available, I'll be sure to let you know! :) |

Mike your post is moving... I believe that we should live each day as if it was The Day.
We would be better focus with each coming day that our Lord delays.
Thanks JR |

| Hi JR! Thanks, and agreed! The world would change in a hurry if millions of Christians lived each day as though it was the last. ~mike |
