| Gays, Christians & Democracy |

Homosexuals and conservative Christians will never agree. On the one hand, discrimination and gay bashing are not Christian conduct. On the other hand, for those who believe the Bible, neither are gay ordination and gay marriage. That won't change. So, can we get along in a free society agreeing to disagree agreeably? Many on both sides of this issue are able to live or work together in peace, without animosity. Sadly, this is not universal.
Christians believe that sin harms us considerably and also separates us from God, but that God lets us choose. Homosexuals promote the gay lifestyle, and want freedom from discrimination, yet discriminate against those who disagree. These are the ingredients of conflict. Yet, we live supposedly in a society of free speech, where our messages have free course. We don't really believe in democracy if each wants to push their own agenda by shutting the mouth of the other. If only we could get along. Sigh! |
