I was reading this from "Answers In Genesis", their answer was "Copyist error". But I doubt it, so I e-mail to CSE (Creation Science Evangelism) ministry, I wrote it; if was really "copyist error". The person name; Joshua Joscelyn relpy back and he's like...
Here the "evidence" , I mean his answer: Note: I hide some personal info and I added picture to make nice effect. Greetings! Thank you for contacting our ministry. No, this is most emphatically not a typist error. Such a thing would mean that God is incapable of fulfilling His promise to preserve His "Words" (Psalm 12:6-7). How old was Ahaziah when he began to rule over Jerusalem? (a) Twenty-two (2 Kings 8:26). (b) Forty-two (2 Chronicles 22:2). "Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel." 2 Kings 8:26. "Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri." 2 Chronicles 22:2. Both are correct. Note first that the Book of Kings focused more on the kings of the northern kingdom of Israel (I) while the Book of Chronicles (2 Kings 8:23) focused more on the southern kingdom of Judah (J). When his father king Jehoram (J) died at the age 40 (2 Kings 8:17), Ahaziah was made regent at the age of 22 (2 Kings 8:26), that is, under the supervision of his mother, Athaliah: "He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly." 2 Chronicles 22:3. Ahaziah's appointment coincided with the 12th year reign of his uncle, king Joram (I): "In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign." 2 Kings 8:25. Or was it the eleventh year? "And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah." 2 Kings 9:29. Again both are correct. On the eleventh year, king Joram (I) ruled alone. Twelfth year when king Joram (I) ruled as regent in behalf of his brother king Ahaziah (I) who was injured (2 Kings 1:2) and died (2 Kings 1:17) a year later (compare 1 Kings 22:51 with 2 Kings 3:1) Athaliah was the daughter (2 Kings 8:27) of the late king Ahab (I) and the sister of king Joram (I). After 20 years of ruling under his wicked mother's supervision, Ahaziah, formed an alliance with king Joram (I) against the king of Syria (2 Kings 8:28), this coincided his 42nd birthday (at this point the Chronicler considered him be ruling alone), a year later he was killed by Jehu (2 Kings 9:14). The confusing thing about the Jewish royalty at the time is that there were two Ahaziahs (The Ahaziah of Judah was also named Jehoahaz) and two Jehorams (The Jehoram of Israel, and possibly the one of Judah as well, was also named Jorum), one for each kingdom, and Athaliah was related to each of them. But these apparent contradictions are often opportunities to actually learn more about the story through comparison. In summary, we have seen that when Ahaziah of Judah was 22, his father, King Jehoram of Judah, died, and he became king of Judah, but only as regent under his mother, Athaliah, the daughter of Ahab of Israel, a descendent of Omri. This occured on the 11th year AND the 12th of the reign of Joram, or Jehoram of Israel, Athaliah's brother, who had been made king or regent while his brother, Ahaziah of Israel was dying, and officially king a year later when Ahaziah of Israel died. 20 years passed, and Ahaziah of Judah cast of the guidance of Athaliah, becoming the wholly-sovereign King of Judah at age 42. He was killed a year later by Jehu. I must say this is by far the most confusing so-called Bible "contradiction" I have ever come up against, but after studying it out, and doing the research, one can nail down these inter-related and like-named characters, and it all makes perfect logical sense; God's Word always does. Thanks for the question, Joshua Joscelyn. BIG THANKS to: Joshua Joscelyn CSE (Creation Science Evangelism) Answers In Genesis Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney pictures from Capcom Court-Records.net; where I got the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney pictures from. Later on, I'll request one of them to update their articles about Contradictions in the Bible? (03) because it's same question from above, but it said "copying error" or Azariah was a common name, because his two uncles is also named Azariah.
