7:11And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. 7:12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 7:13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 7:14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare [him] stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 7:15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. There were several that had encounters with the Lord Jesus while traveling the dusty road. The chance meeting with the much people following Jesus into the city. While much people were leaving the city to bury a young man, that had died and was being buried. The promise was fulfillment of Isaiah's writing that the Spirit of the Lord would be upon this Immanuel.( God with us ) Jesus stops the funeral possession, sees the heart of a broken hearted mother that's burying her only son. There he turns a funeral into a resurrection, Jesus the promise speaks to the young man, I say unto thee arise. He that was dead sat up and began to speak and Jesus delivered him unto his mother.
5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. Another chance meeting on the dusty road with a woman that had suffered a sickness for 12 years. This woman had spend all she had on doctors, yet grew worse. This issue of blood was of such a sickness that she was considered unclean by the Old Testament laws. This meant she wasn't to have any kind of contact with people that were not sick. This woman had heard of the fame of this promise that was coming down her road. She knew in her heart that Jesus was really the only hope she had. She purposed in her heart that if she could only touch just the hem of his garment, she would be made whole. As the promise comes near she finds that again there are much people. The crowd didn't stop this dear woman, she had a mind made up to touch him.She some way and some how makes her way to where she can touch the hem. Jesus realizes that healing has taken place, when he ask who touched me? The promise knew the heart's of those that he ministered too.
10:46And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, [thou] Son of David, have mercy on me. 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me. 10:49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. 10:50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. A blind man meets the promise coming down the dusty road. Here's sits a man that hears the noise of much people following a man called Jesus. The fame of Jesus and God's healing power had been told in all the cities. Here sits a man with probably the only opportunity that he'll ever have to be near Jesus. He begins to cry out to Jesus, he cries out with all that is within him to Jesus. Much people tried to make this blind man cease his loud crying out to Jesus. The promise, ( Jesus ) heard the cries and his this blind man was brought into his presence. Jesus ask Bartimaeus, What do you want me to do for you? Bartimaeus request the Lord to give him his sight. Jesus honored the faith that cried out, thou son of David have mercy on me. The promise is still passing by for those that are willing to press through the crowds and those that are willing to cry out. Jesus is passing your way, the promise is you and your children and as many as the Lord our God shall call. |
