I have decided after a couple years of not doing it to return to reading thru the bible in a year. In the early years I did this cover to cover. The last few times did it online. This year will probably be a combination of online and personal bible.
I will use the oneyearbibleonline plan. Daily getting an Old Testament, a New Testament, a Psalm and a Proverb reading. Below is the website and the Janurary 1 reading.....
Genesis 1:1-2:25 Matthew 1:1-2:12 Psalm 1:1-6 Proverbs 1:1-6
Another good site with five different reading plans is bibleyear. Chronological (from cover to cover) or a mix depending on a person's preference. Here is that website and the Old / New Testament reading plan for Janurary 1.....
If you have never done this or got lost along the way in an attempt why not make 2009 the year that you finally make it happen. It really is a lot easier than it sounds, and is far more a blessing than a chore. And GOD speaks to those who make themselves available.
Oh, both these sites are connected to www.biblegateway.com . If you choose KJV or NIV they have a feature that you can click and have it read to you.
I've obeyed the Holy Spirit posting this. May GOD bless this seed.
Any person can read the Bible in a year. The important thing is to "understand" what you are reading. It took me nine years to read it the last time. I am now on my second and it has been a few years still. You learn something new every time.
