I think it means that reputation in speech and actions are more important than possesions. Not sure if I'm right, but I hope it helps! :)

This proverb reveals unto us two different lifestyles: one of integrity and truth; the other of foolishness filled with falsehood, lies, and deceptions. We are encouraged to speak truth, love and to have integrity as a way of life and not to be as the perverted fools who lie and deceive others in order gain advantages in life.
