| You know when God speaks to you? Well today was one of those days for me. |

I had such a wonderful time at church today. Pastor Bernard King gave an awesome teaching today! The topic was, "My heart Your Home". He spoke about Revelations 3:20, 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 6:19 Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; 6:20 for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.
and Isaiah 57:15. 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. He spoke about "Lip service" Meaning do we just praise Him with our mouths or with our hearts? 15:8 This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me. He spoke about How we answer the Lord when he is knocking at the door of our hearts. Do we merely treat Him like a sales person and ignore Him or do we invite Him inside of our homes? Most importantly, when we do invite Him inside, is He comfortable? Meaning is there room for Him to walk around or is there the junk of our hearts that is getting in the way? Or do we allow Him to explore our home freely or is there that one room (exp: The bedroom or the kitchen) where we have things that we hide and are ashamed of Him to see. I could totally relate to this because even though I have invited Him inside my heart there are still some things that I am sure He would not be comfortable seeing there. I still have sins that I struggle with and I am sure almost everyone does. Like I always say..." I am a work in progress". Right now the Lord is working on my Home (Heart) and He is renovating me. He is ripping out the old carpet that is a sin I struggle with. He is tearing down the walls which represents another sin I struggle with. He has a magnificent plan for me and I just need to give Him free reign over my heart to do with it what He wishes. Sometimes we say that we accepted Jesus into our homes (hearts) BUT is He comfortable? Do we merely treat Him like a tenant or renter? If so we shouldn't because He is the Owner of our home (heart). That is one of my prayers. That Jesus would help me to overcome the temptations of the earth and focus on Him always. That He would help me to get rid of all the junk still lingering in my heart. Little by little I have noticed a change. Today God spoke to me. He asked me a question? How does your home look? If I browsed around the rooms in your home (heart) what would I find? I already knew the answer to His question and it seriously got me thinking that I need His help to renovate my house (heart). How about you? This is a question we should all stop and think about. |
