Hi Kathy.
Accountability is the way to go, for sure. I'm very disciplined in both my quiet time and my daily work (which I love dearly). However, for the year 2009 I would like to request prayer support for one particular area of my life that has thus far defied all my efforts to change! I won't go into detail here but it does seem clear to me that now the time is right for a breakthrough. Having a few extra people joining me in prayer will surely help me get to the finish line!
Pastor Tim, have you ever hear of the blood type diet? I thought it was a fad when I first heard of it five years ago, but when I was diagnosed with some food allergies/sensitivities my doctor (an MD who is also a naturopath) had me start eliminating certain foods and my health took a total turnaround for the better. Gluten and the casein in dairy were my problems. Once I cut out the offending irritants I dropped 25 pounds without even trying. Now I eat as much as I want of my acceptable foods and feel better than I've ever felt in my life! I guess what I'm saying is that you don't have to just eat soup for 364 more days. There is lots of good stuff out there; just be sure it's not food that's harming you in some way.
So that's one of my soapboxes! Does anybody else have any feedback on this whole topic of discipline, be it study, exercise or eating?! Thanks for getting me started Kathy! |

Hi John and Benne! Great to see you both! Thanks for reading!
Pastor Tim, you can do it! Make goals that are reasonable, and don't get discouraged and give up! Have you considered posting a blog to keep yourself accountable? I find that helpful.
Barb, I will pray with you about your needed change, and invite other readers to join you as well! All of us have areas that need change, and I support anyone who takes the initiative to do something about it! (No one can change me but me!) Keep me posted on how you are doing! |
