To add a comment to "Who is our neighbor?"

Just to leave a comment or an idea; for thought.  Everyone is our neighbor, but the ones we need to reach out to are the ones in our midst.  The church is like a family system and families need to eat together, pray together, worship together and have fellowship.  We need to have fellowship.

If our family system is breaking apart, and changing we need to know why.  It is like my oldest son Jeremiah who went to college, (has now graduated and is married) or Hillary Travis was in his class and also went away.  Were they missed by their (immediate family)?  Yes.  Did they know that? Yes. How often were they missed?  Probably every day.  Did they know that? Yes.  Were they missed by their (church family)?  Maybe.  I can only speak for Jeremiah.  Yes, he knew he was missed by his church family, but only when he returned home from school or visited on holidays.  He doesn't remember any special care packages or calls.  A few people did stop by, the Catersons, John Hawley, but was that enough for him to know his church family really missed his presence in the church and without him things weren't the same?  I wonder about Emily Travis...or my other son Ben?  What about Ashleigh Hinds? What about the Parrish family?  Is there someone out there from our church family that we have forgotten?  Therefore, who is our neighbor?  Are they closer than we think, but in reality far away...
