Gen. Chapter 32
I just have to say that this Bible study has really been a blessing,there is so much in each of the readings that I am just picking a small portion out.The depth of GOD and his Word continually surprises me.
This chapter Jacob wrestling with GOD.What tenacity he refused to let go until he blessed him. How many times have we attacked the alter and refused to get up until GOD blessed us.Or just answered us.Very few times only a couple of times I personally can think of for myself.And usually it is at a time that I am out of all options I am scared,alone,I can't move until GOD does. Her I see Jacob so scared of Esau he sends these gifts sends people ahead of him break the group up into 2 companies.Even though he has GOD'S Promise he is still riddled with fear.verse 9 he speaks GOD'S word to him I think to remind him self then with humility he praises GOD for all he has already done. Then he asked to be delivered from his brother.Where I think GOD'S blessing him started was he was so scared BUT he kept moving forward he didn't let his fear stop him from doing what GOD told him to do. How many times have we been so scared and stopped or even turned around. So i believe that is where it starts.Then grab's a hold of GOD and doesn't let go. He got his hip dislocated and still hung on how much pain that was. So surrounded by fear and in a abundant amount of pain he still expected to be blessed. Walked with a limp after that sometimes we have scares and a limp when we have been through something. But how GOD blesses us on the other side. |
