| Schemes of satan |
|
| |
Today I found a list in my bible on the schemes of satan, so I thought I'd blog on them. First scheme: satan gets us to doubt God. Many times satan has used this on me and in different ways. He's used it in my marriage. God brought me back to Ken, yet satan makes me doubt God doing it. There are times living with a drug and alcohol addict that I've screamed at God, asking him why he brought me back and does He really know what he's doing. Sometimes, I get angry with God for bringing me back, just like satan wants. There have been times when someone has died, and I've doubted God. There have been times when I've doubted that God loves me. There have been times that I've decided that God has lied to me and walked away from me. Yes, I know all of these are satan's lies, but I fell for them. 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God say, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden'?" Second Scheme: satan gets us to doubt ourselves I've doubted myself sooooo many times! I've doubted my voice is good enough to sing for the Lord. I've doubted that I'm doing any good for God's kingdom. I've doubted that my testimony is one to be heard. I've doubted that I love in action enough. I've doubted that I can stand, just stand. I've doubted that I have a voice for the Lord to speak His word. I've doubted that I'm as good as other christians. All lies from satan. 4:3 And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread." Third Scheme: satan gets us to doubt our faith Will my faith ever be strong enough to withstand attacks? Will my faith be strong enough to stand firm against those who are false prophets and who aren't teaching biblically sounds teachings? Will my faith be strong enough to speak His Word without fear? Will my faith be great enough to carry me through the rough times? Will my faith guide me? Will my faith grow stronger? Do I have faith? 6:16 besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. Fourth Scheme: satan gets us to doubt we can be forgiven and doubt God's power over sins There are times he uses this on me at my lowest point. He knows where to hit me. He knows where to hit you. What sin do you feel you can't be forgiven of, that's where he wants you. He's stealing your joy, because you've been forgiven. It's like saying that God isn't big enough to forgive our sins. Reality is, we probably haven't forgiven ourselves. satan likes it :( God has the power to forgive all sins, satan plays mind tricks with us on this one. He makes us believe that our sins are too great to be forgiven. NOT. 8:33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies; In closing, do we help satan with his schemes? Not only against ourselves, but against others? Our sins are cast as far as the east is from the west, have you reminded someone lately of their past? Have you reminded yourself? Do you feel you don't have faith? Have you told someone that they're faith isn't big enough? Have you questioned whether what God is calling you to do is of God? Have you questioned someone else about if God really told them to do something? Yes, we stand with each other as christians, we help each other, we love each other. But, we don't or shouldn't tear each other down nor tear ourselves down........it's just satan's schemes. |

10:17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. and
4:7 Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

It's so necessary to keep on guard always. I know what GOD has done in & with my life, yet there are definitely times (more than I really care to admit) that I fall prey to the enemy. My only HOPE is I know that GOD is in control & will only allow the enemy to push me so far. I accepted JESUS CHRIST in 1989 & as a friend of mine once told me; the closer you get to the top of the tree, the harder the wind blows. Praise GOD we will be perfected in HIM when we go home to be with HIM. I daresay there are more valleys than mountain top experiences; however, that is when we learn what GOD wants to teach us. When saying the name JESUS, that helps divert my stinking thinking. Just saying His name over & over.
10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

I like what your friend said!!!!! Love you! And yes, satan is a thief........he's stolen my joy tooooooo many times, something to work on this year, not letting him do that! |

| CindyLou, when I accepted Jesus, I really & truly believed it would all be a bed of roses. I was on a spiritual high for about a year. I really did not have the discipleship I needed to learn & then - pop - the teaching & delivering began & of course, will continue until I go home. I am very grateful; however, that the teaching was from the Father Himself. I got whacked up side the head with the 2 x 4 with my name on it. LOL I was & maybe to a certain degree, am a hard headed person; so sometimes that is what it took. The only thing I know is God is faithful & loves us. Praise You Jesus & thank You. |

| Doubt = activity of Satan... Yep, I'll believe it! I can feel doubt "creep" in often, when I am being used by God to facilitate a group discussion, or sharing a message with those who attend our service at the assisted living ctr. One person suggested prayer as the best way to combat doubt. Well, it certainly can't hurt!! |

| (ok, maybe that was a rather weak endorsement of the power of prayer....it's just that I do pray, but self-doubt still seems to be present....I guess there's always room for more prayer) |

| Mike: Been there too, when singing a solo, I get sooooo nervous, I start doubting.....not because I'm worried that someone won't like how I sing, but worried that I won't be good enough for God.......enter satan.......I used to ask Ken to lift me publicly in prayer before I sing, now I just know he's praying for me. I found out there are others in the church who do the same, they know my heart and that I choke up on songs sometimes ( hehehehe, ask Hollywood, I sang for her the other night). There is power in prayer, I'm a firm believer :) |
