Ok...So I know most of you saw my status about praying for our newly elect President, well...What I needed to say I can't put on the status because ya'll know I am winded!!! So, here goes; Before Senator-President Elect Barack Obama became our newly elected President, I heard so much stuff about he and his family. Good, Oh, but much more Bad...from most of the Christian community. Even inside and outside of Churches. What bothers me most about it all...Though we "think" we know who this man is and we "think" we know God's plan for this President and this county, in all reality, YOU DON'T! During the election proceedings, I heard it about both candidates. You have no idea! I even felt that if I didn't vote for the other person, I was going to hell with gasoline underwear on! At first, I was so confused about who to vote for because I had heard so much about McCain(Good), and about Obama(Bad), and then, vise-versa! But, after I prayed about who to vote for, I decided it was "my"decision who to vote for and not to be pursuaded by anyone else and their tactics to sway me another way. I can honestly say, I AM GLAD IT IS OVER!!! So, saying that to say this...For as long as I can remember, we have been told to pray for our leaders. Regardless of whether you voted for them or not, we were taught as "Real Christian" to pray for our leaders...That includes and definately means our President. I remember us praying fervently for President Bush for the past 8 yrs for everything that concerned this man. Because, he was our leader! So, why is it so difficult for us to do the same for President Obama??? I have to pose this question, but before I do, I want you all to know that don't have a prejudice bone in my body ok? So, my couple of questions are these; Is it because of the things that he stood for before he was elected(abortion, gay rights, etc, etc) or is it because he is a black man and the majority of this country don't feel like this country is ready this kind of transistion yet? I mean, seriously, I want to know! I can see alot of things into this. I can see why alot of people didn't want him in there, and I can see alot of it as prejudice and some even saying, "I'm not praying for him because that is not who God wanted in office but who the "people" wanted!" Well, before he was elected, I heard "Christians" say, "God is gonna put in office whom He wants in office!" So, now that its not whom you thought it should be, you won't pray for him? Did God change His mind and decide to let the people decide whom they wanted? I think not!!! God appointed who, HE wanted in there for the season and time that it is in His perfect plan for us! For people to label this man as 'The Anti-Christ' and 'Satan' is just FLAT OUT WRONG!!! That is judging and we are not to do that!!! 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: We don't know God's plan for this man. Do we not trust the Father and what He has planned for us and for this country? Do we not think that God is capable of using whomever is in office? Do we not think that He will do what He says He will do? Well, I have news for you, we better because regardless of how we feel or what we think, this man is our President of the United States and WE NEED TO PRAY FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY!!! Never in my days have I ever seen such DRAMA going on with a Presidental transistion! Everyone is making such a big deal about them moving to the White House. Even President Bush has not invited his family to stay there since he has been elected. As far as I can remember back, the newly elected President and his family moved to a different wing of the White House until Inagurational Day...but not this President. He and his family will be living in a hotel across the street from the White House! What??? Really??? This man has the right to be treated as any other President we have had in this country. Not only is he our new President, he has also become a mark in our history and no one can ever change that. I don't care if he is in there 30 seconds...Nothing or nobody can change that! We just need to do our job as Intercessors and pray for this man that he makes the "God" decisions and that everything God wants for him to do , HE WILL DO IT!!! 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. Ok...and now I'm done!!! Thanks for listening to me blab, but this is just my opinion. Let's just fervently pray for him and pray that God does what "He" wants to do in and through him because He can and He will anyway!!! |

This is the first I have heard this.... am seeking the mind of the Lord with you regarding this... and those who are caught up in such. If I may offer... before anyone began to run for the President out of no where I heard "A black person will be the next President"... I sensed I was being told this... because when it came to pass, I would know it is His will for such to take place... then I was told I was not to become involved in the next election... as I was not to entangle myself in the affairs of men ... instead I was to stand in faith for HIS will to be accomplished and do what my hand finds to do as He manifests His will/provision for my life each day ... I could not avoid hearing some of the conflicting rumors ... and I agree, lies and confusion, corruption definitely controls politics and if we let it politics and the governments of men will control our lives. Bless You Lord Jesus, our King and ruler... our Messiah... our Provider... our..............

| I agree with you totally! And I will admit this to you as well...I was told not to vote in this election...so I didn't because of the all of the drama and confusion involved with it as well. I know that whatever happens...it will be God's will regardless! |

Yes! He has a plan which is unfolding continually.... we can praise Him through it no matter what is taking place ... for as His children we are walking in the Spirit and not after the flesh... we are to see through HIS eyes. It saddens me to observe, often those who call themselves by His name seem to misrepresent Him... some prominent leaders for example prophecied McCain was going to win... it may be through following such leaders that those you speak of above, came to call Senator-President Elect Barack Obama a Messiah... the Anti-Christ ... and thus, ect. Being followers of men, rather than having their own intimate relationship with the Lord often causes such a one to be the tail... rather than a part of His head... puts me in mind of Deuteronomy 28 1-68... especially the verse below. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them]:

| Yes exactly! That is what made me go back and re-evaluate all the things that were being said...whether they were bipartsim or whatever. That is why it is so important that we as believers pray before making any kind of decision...especially about an election bc we want to vote according to He and not us!!! Pray, study, dialogue... I am a lifelong DFLer (Minnesota Democrat), and from a long line of similar thinking. I thought it was time to elect either a woman or a person of color because after all these years it's the morally right thing to do. Leaders can be shaped by the ideas of their followers. Their thoughts aren't engraved in stone. People can change their minds, their thinking can evolve when presented with new information and facts. It's not just up to the president. We all have to pitch in. |

| I am not here to defend Obama...I am here to say..pray for this man! I for one know what his history was all about...but I too know that most of our 'forefathers' and past Presidents carried the same racial prejudice as 'they' say he has! But...we still prayed for them to make the right decisions as far as our country went. And...As a black woman in this country married to a 'white man' I have to see it from both angles! I know what it is like to be discriminated against all my childhood life and even now that I am married outside of my culture(for the past 21yrs)so that's something that will always be here...but I refuse to let hate cause me to not do the will of God concerning this matter. Though you feel like 'he is not worthy to be "your" President'...welll...He is as long as you live in this country sir! |

This blog was never intended to offend or cause anyone to become angry! Thanks to all who responded though bc Now I 'DO' know who and what to pray about bc even the more this man's saftey and protection needs to be covered bc of the hatred felt against he and his family! |

If I may also add... as an intercessor, hopefully when we pray, we are seeking the mind of the Lord... and not praying from the abundance of our unredeemed heart... which comes from a mindset which was conditioned by our culture/family influences, before we were born of HIS Spirit via the power of the Word of God...
Also... our goverment although it was created to represent the people it is set up to govern... was established to keep church and state separate... Christ knows this... |
