| Move That Mountain Now! |
|
| |
In talking with a friend several days ago, we were discussing mountains that are before us. The Lord gave me insight to something right then and there.
God doesn’t always remove the mountain before you, sometimes He makes you find your way around it or allows you to chip away at it for a while.
We live in a world of want it and want it now, even from God. We miss the boat here. God is the Master, not us. That means we obey Him and do what He tells us, not the other way around.
Children are that way. Children want things immediately, and if it doesn’t happen right then, they throw fits and cry, usually until the parent gives in or punishes them. I don’t think God gives in to our every whim and in demanding, we often get punished. 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways. There are times that God wants us to find a way around that mountain. Why would He do that? Because He knows us better than we know ourselves, because He loves us, because He wants us to grow. I’ve watched children growing up who were given everything they demanded. When they became adults, they couldn’t handle life on this earth. Why? Because they never had to struggle, to place faith in the getting there. That’s why God needs us to find a way, it’s growth.
There are times that God wants us to chip away at the mountain. There’s a lot of learning and leaning when you struggle and in chipping you have plenty of time to listen to Him.
If God removed every mountain in our way, He’d be like a “Sugar Daddy”. My God is not a “Sugar Daddy”. My God has the best for me, but it’s in His timing and His way. It is my job to ask, wait and be patient, for He knows best, not I.
God didn’t remove mountains immediately for everyone in the Bible. Think about Job. Oh myyyyyyyy, what I’ve learned from Job! Had God not allowed Job to go through what He did, not only would Job have missed out, but I would have too! Elihu's claim that God can use suffering to purify the righteous is awesome and I'm a firm believer. And in the end, Job has full recognition of God's majesty and sovereignty, and no longer demands an answer to "why?" 42:1 Then Job answered the LORD: 42:2 "I know that thou canst do all things, and that no purpose of thine can be thwarted. 42:3 'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. 42:4 'Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.' 42:5 I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee; 42:6 therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes." Then there’s Jesus, God didn’t remove mountains for Him and He was His son sent to us. Where would we be without Him? Remember Jesus was in human form, I’m sure the cross wasn’t appealing to Him, but he suffered for us, and yet we expect God to take it all away from us? 22:41 And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, 22:42 "Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." Note: Even Jesus said "not my will, but thine, be done"
In closing, I’d like to thank the Lord for not removing mountains for me. The best answer to prayer I’ve had was “No!”…….without “No” I wouldn’t be with Ken, I wouldn’t have learned blind faith. Another wonderful answer to prayer for me was “Wait”….”Wait” taught me patience and trust.
We are God’s children, He wants the best for us, but He is our Master and we obey Him. He’s not a fast food drive thru. Thank you Lord for who You are, my Master.

Lou, you're right! God knows best...and for everything there's a reason...God knows me better than I know me! And where I am sooo thankful for the mountains that have been removed...I too am thankful for the ones that haven't been removed...
These last 9 months have been some of the most trying times I've ever had to go through...I've seen how I've chipped and chipped away at the mountain...and how because of that...I can call myself stronger today...and ya know what...after I've done my chipping, God is removing the mountain before my very eyes!! One thing that I hold on to is that God will never put more on you than you can handle...and when the enemy comes in...He is my Victory! With God ALL things are possible! Because Greater is He that lives in me...than he that lives in the world!
Great word Lou! I expect more blogs like this!! LOVE YA!! :) |

| Hollywood: It's amazing that when we're finding our way around that mountain or chipping away......suddenly the things in our life that need change become clear, we repent, then God just blasts that mountain outta da way!!!! It's not about anything but us and our relationship with God, period. Love you so much and you'll be seeing more ;) |

Bub: It's all about God's will and timing, not our's........it's where our faith grows and through our testimony of mountain struggles.........others grow.........so if it means I chip away or have to go around the mountain, I will do it and thank God. I've watched mountains not be moved for you and Scott, in your timing, but I saw your faith, I saw you not give up and keep trusting God and it caused me to grow.........keep chipping, ok? |

| Hi Cinder's. Believe it or not, its those mountains that make us stronger - whether it be chipping away at them, climbing them, or as some would identify with, making a rut for ourselves out them cos we have to dig our way out. Its HIS timing - not ours, and if we want to grow up - we've got to be prepared to do whatever it takes to get over them. Oh I forgot. AMEN Cinder's! |

| Hi Cinder's. Growing up means people have got to toughen up for the mountains ahead of them. I tell you something Cinder's, if it wasn't for the mountains I've faced in life over the years, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Believe it or not, those "mountains" have taught me something. If you want to get over something, you've got to be prepared to climb it. And climb it if I must, but I've got to do it to get over it - else it will defeat me. |

| Stevie: I can remember wondering why God didn't move the mountain, but made me chip away at it...then I look back now and laugh, because it was then that I came closer to God. |

| Reminds me of the book "Hinds Feet On High Places" -- the mountain adventure does strengthen us, broaden our view, and help us see how much more we are capable of when we journey with Jesus Christ! :) LOVE IT! |

| I'm liking the "non-sugar coated" Gospel very much. God didn't promise a rose garden, but He promised us peace that the world can't take from us and that He'd never leave us nor forsake us. |

| Lara: You bring up a very good point, He does promise us peace that only comes through Him! So often through the struggles in life, when He just doesn't move that mountain fast enough, we forget about the peace. And all He's doing is telling us to rest in Him. Thanks for bringing that up.........love you, Lara Nell! |
