This Chapter begins with a purpose clause showing what it wants to teach us, principals following the law of honoring our father and mother, and giving us judgment. and yes God commands us to judge, a judging of character is only wisdom on our parts when it comes to those we associate with. In this passage of scripture God commands us: 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. , I noticed in verses 17-18 it states 1:17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. 1:18 And they lay wait for their [own] blood; they lurk privily for their [own] lives. It clearly gives a warning of "running with the wrong crowd", and neglecting the a wisdom of our fathers and the law of our mothers. These verses clearly say that when these people lay wait to harm others that they will only be committing self destruction and end up destroying their own lives. Next Wisdom begins to cry out to us and our generation Her voice echoes in these scriptures: 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Wisdom represents those prophets who cried out in the streets to these people, simple ones or untaught or ignorant both unwillingly and willfully, and scorners or scoffers those who mock, and fools the haters of knowledge.. which are so many of us today and our generation! The youth of our generation are going down a dark and dangerous road with no light and no guidance! it is up to those of us who have this light and Wisdom to show them the way and teach them the way to go! No longer do we need to sit back and let the scoffers of this world control the minds of our peers, but instead allow God to use us to further his Kingdom in this age group. What we need to do is stop being self willed against Holiness and righteousness and adopt those teachings of selflessness that Christ live so perfect while here on earth! 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. This is ever so important to us in this day and age of conformity to our world with movies music and many other venues of "Alternative or Modern Christianity" As Children of God it is our duty to be set apart! what "Light" is to be seen by those that are lost if our light resembles so much of "The Darkness"? In the conclusion of this Chapter: 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. A two way promise for those who turn away from wisdom, which is death and destruction 6:23 A) For the wages of sin [is] death; and those who hearken or listen and obey, are promised safety and life! B) but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God always promises Life to those who obey and Love him. And He IS The God who keeps His Word! GOD BLESS! |
