We are soon approaching a time where these very verses will make even more sense! Right now even the computers we are typing from have more power and technology than the in the first flight to the moon... soon and it is not to far off it won't just be cell phones, computers, and those types of things that we will be competing with! Obviously we hear at my church must know (and if you don't- I will tell you I know for a fact!...It's 3:48 am and I am still up studying the brain and how it's made (like anyone but God knows LOL) what it does yada, yadda.....) WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! So precious are our days. We need to cherish each one we GET to have :0) What was the big deal back then you ask about the "Cedars of Lebanon" and all of those big tall and "Mighty Oaks?" Back then- there was nothing to compare"Big" to. We have Skyscrapers and larger things...during those times any thing "big" for example a large mountain or river etc... the people would call it a "god" and than worship it. What Isaiah was telling them that in the last days all of those things- those objects- idols- things of "greatness" will be nothing... destroyed and in the final days, only the Lord will be exalted! there is nothing that man can build, invent, understand, create, (The creator has already created! "BEHOLD ALL THINGS ARE MADE NEW" :0) or for that matter undo- God the Father IS and who are we to tell him any different? 12 The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled), 13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty, and all the oaks of Bashan, 14 for all the towering mountains and all the high hills, 15 for every lofty tower and every fortified wall, 16 for every trading ship and every stately vessel. 17 The arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, 18 and the idols will totally disappear. 19 Men will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from dread of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth. 20 In that day men will throw away to the rodents and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship. 21 They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from dread of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth. 22 Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? |
