I am thinking about the economy and how the Lord is faithful in meeting our needs. I know some folks are dealing with lack of funds for mortgage and heat and others stretching funds for food. I thought back to needs where I was blessed and thought this could be an encouragement to those who are in need now. I am asking that you write about a situation where a need was met. I thought of this becauase Sparky sent me a message telling me of such a situation. I will go first. I needed rent money. I needed 400 of the 625 and seemed to always be ten days late. I took a huge pay cut from 36k a year to 5.50 an hour because I felt the Lord leading me to it. It was a huge leap of faith for me and while I was sometimes a bit late, He always came through. This time shortly before my rent would be late again, a drunk driver hit my son's car and knocked it into mine then through a mailbox and into a neighbor's car while we slept. My son's car was totaled. He awakened to go to his job to make early morning bagels. He was about 19 I think and he was devastated. It was an old ugly car but it was all he had. He was also a believer. We prayed right in the yard and the neighbors, also Christians came out and joined us. One of his sons found the bent license plate under the car so while it was a hit and run, we had the culprit. The police came and his insurance company cut a check to each of us. My son got a better car than what he had. I had cosmetic damage on an old car and was going to use it to pay the rent but the Lord told me to give it to my son. Now, in the NATURAL, that doesn't make sense. He just got a fat check and while I did owe him 400, I also needed 400. He could wait and we could avoid problems with possibly losing a roof over our head. I gave him the 400. He protested but the Lord said that I needed to do it and so I protested louder. Three days later, I got a check in the mail from an old friend in Ohio. 400 to the penny. Not 500 and not 300, exactly 400. She said that the Lord told her to send it to me. She didn't have my address so she called my mom for it. We had been out of touch for years and she had no idea in the natural that I had a need. She didn't even have my phone or address anymore. I KNOW God was teaching me to obey and trust. I trust you Lord. |
