| YOU ARE MY HOPE |
|
| |
71:5 For thou, O Lord, art my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my confidence. The cause of disillusionment is putting one's complete hope and trust in people. Putting people on a pedestal, focusing on them, finding our security in them. Being so horizontally locked in that the person takes the place of God, even becomes God. Your complete hope can rest in one person. It can be your child. It can be your parent. It can be a business partner, a friend, a pastor, a coach, a mate. And when the feet of clay crumble (as surely they will), total disillusionment sets in. What's the cure? Putting our complete hope and trust in the living Lord. Charles Swindoll
MAY YOU BE BLESSED

Nice post. Side Note: In christians- I have seen through the years, it is easier for them to ride on the tails of their mentor/pastor than to seek God for their own "spiritual feet" for lack of a beeter word and they end up missing a whole lot so they miss "it". The writter of this whole Psalm knew what "it" was. As he was facing grave and bitter trials because the enemy had found his weakness- He was calling out to God, He knew that God would not forsake His own. He asked God to not only remember but to protect him, and then the psalmsitasked the :ord tp [unsh those who were [ersecuting him and he then closes this with a promise to God that if God does this (v18) he would tell the next generation of God. The psalmists then closes his prayer with all praise and confidence in God (Verses 14-17, 19-21 and 21-24) .
We get to boldly approaach our Father in heaven and follw the lead of others that have done "it" the right way. How blessed are we to put our hope and our trust in such a mighty God as He?
.....from the deapths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again |

Yes, the Lord warns us of this trap with these words: 14:25 Now great multitudes accompanied him; and he turned and said to them, 14:26 "If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 14:27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 14:28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 14:29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 14:30 s aying, 'This man began to build, and was not able to finish.' 14:31 Or what king, going to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 14:32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy and asks terms of peace. 14:33 So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. Unless we become his disciple we will fall into all kinds of painful circumstances and relationship. It is only safe for God to give us friends when He [and we] know that they are not our source. It is only safe for us to become friends when we know that those friends are not making us their source. Yours in Him, Craig |

| It's true. I dunno if God does this on purpose, but any time I'm completely in a horrid place, I got no one I feel I can talk to except Him. |
