WHY IS SELF AFRAID OF THE TRUTH, THE LIGHT THAT SHINES SO BRIGHT EXPOSING DECEPTION AND EVIL DEEDS, EXPELLING THE DARKEST OF NIGHTS SELF HIDES ITSELF FROM THE TRUTH: IT DOESN'T WANT TO BE KNOWN FOREVER CLOTHING ITSELF IN DARKNESS, SO THE WORST OF SELF WON'T BE SHOWN GUILTY AND ASHAMED, HURT AND IN PAIN, YET SELF STILL TURNS AWAY IN PRIDE
INSTEAD OF BEING OPEN TO THE TRUTH, SELF PUSHES THE TRUTH ASIDE (ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW EVERY SELF DOES THE SAME AS THE FIRST OF THESE?) (MODERN SELF COVERS SHAME IN UNBELIEF, THE 1ST SELF SIMPLY USED LEAVES) IF ONLY SELF WOULD KNOW THE TRUTH, THE TRUTH WOULD SET SELF FREE! AND EVERYTHING IN SELF (OUTSIDE OF THE TRUTH) WOULD THEN BE FORCED TO FLEE IF ONLY SELF WOULD KILL PRIDE, AND LET THE WOUNDS OF SIN BE REVEALED THEN SELF WOULD SEE THAT, ALL ALONG, THE TRUTH WANTED SELF TO BE HEALED! GOD LOVED SELF SO MUCH THAT THE TRUTH DIED TO GIVE SELF LIFE FREEING SELF FROM SIN AND DEATH: GOD'S PERFECT SACRIFICE!
You can replace each SELF in this poem with words that represent people like unbelievers, him, her, you, them.... but if you really want this to pour into your life, replace each SELF in this poem with "Me". We were all at that point at one time and we were all unbelievers once... Some of you might try to refute the fact that you've never ran from God (which proves that you're hiding behind pride, OOPS, did I just say that??? lol!!), and say that you've always known about God. Maybe you're a preacher's kid, and you've never missed a Sunday, Wednesday night, or a church event.... Wow. I'd say that maybe you deserve a pat on the back for good attendance, but just because you know OF God doesn't mean that you KNOW HIM! Just because you always go to church doesn't mean that you have a relationship. I'm not trying to discourage anyone. I'm actually trying to let you all know the importance of knowing the Truth. The Truth sets us free! What is the Truth? (I know some of y'all want to know what I think the Truth is) The Truth is EVERY WORD THAT COMES OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD! The Truth is Jesus, aka The Word of God aka The Way, The Truth, The Life! What are the main things the Scripture teaches? 1. Love the Lord YOUR God will all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. (God even made it personal!) 2. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. (Some of us need despirately to ask God to teach us to love ourselves. I can guarantee that at least one person who reads this and has suffered any kind of emotional, physical, mental, psychological, or spiritual abuse due to some other person doesn't love themselves because of what they've been through. Some people abuse themselves and don't even know it. We've got to stop putting ourselves down. We've got to love ourselves based on who God is and how He sees us. This requires a perspective change! This doesn't mean we have to be prideful in order to lift ourselves up either, because that's disobedience to this very commandment. We have to humbly go to God. He alone exalts the humble, so we have no room to boast!) 3. Without holiness, no man shall see God. (I'm not talking about just "being a good person". If you go to church, and you go to work, help the poor, give tithes... but inwardly, your heart is given over to the lusts of the flesh, then your work is in vain. You'd be better off not knowing the Truth! Before you get mad at me, hear me out. God is not a strict, stick-up-the-butt tyrant. He is a loving, caring God who delights in His people. It pleases Him to bless us! He doesn't delight in punishing us! Since sin was brought forth into the heart of man, God has been cleansing man's heart and drawing all men back to Himself. See, He wants us to be clean and pure on the inside as well as the outside! Not just on the outside. With God, it's either all or nothing. You can't have one foot inside and one foot out. Your soul is either going to live or die. There's no inbetween. Either Heaven or Hell. The Bible never said anything about Purgatory. Either you can let your flesh "live" and please yourself for a short time, while your soul perishes, OR you can die to your flesh allow it to be crucified with Christ, so that your soul can ressurect with Him into the glorious eternal life! Yeah, we're human. We're flesh. We mess up sometimes. It's tough. God knows how tough it is for us. But the Bible says that His grace is sufficient. That means God will meet you where you are. God didn't create you to face His wrath. It doesn't please Him to punish His people, and He loved us so much, that HE endured the punishment so that we wouldn't have to! All we have to do is believe that what He says is true. God wants to discipline us to completely abstain from the sinful nature bestowed upon us. He's given us a Counselor, aka the Spirit of Truth, to help us! We can go to God and ask Him to help us stand against sin. God has given us the opportunity to partake in the suffering in the suffering of Christ on the cross that we can be made one with Him through this communion, and in that, share in His inheiritance! |
