Love Eternal

23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want; 23:2 he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; 23:3 he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows. 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Today I saw my friend Arnie for the first time in several years.  He had retired, got married after being a lifetime bachelor, and moved to Miami.  I had found out he was back working in New York, so I looked him up.  It turns out his wife suddenly committed suicide.  He has lost a ton of weight, his confidence has been shattered.  if it weren't for his friend who called him and told him to come back home and come work for him, he might be gone as well.  He's getting help, but he's still very raw and hurt.  All I can offer him are my support and prayers.  I have been through a suicide of an Army comrade and the pain in my gut now is the same as it was then.  I must pray not only for him but that I can find the strength to be a comfort to him.

My prayers for your friend and you as you find peace in knowing that the Lord is with you. I am glad that an "angel" stepped in to console and be with your friend in his time of need.  Blessing, Peace, and Prayers Kathy

God, we lift Arnie before Your eternal throne of grace.  You and You alone know what he is going through; the depth of his pain, and the depth of pain his wife experienced that led her to conclude that death was better than continued suffering.  Thank you for friends like Ken who are there to support us in our times of need.  We do not understand why You lead us through times in our life when it seems You have let us lose everything.  We only know that while grief lasts but a night, joy comes with the dawning.  In the name of Jesus, amen.
