We live in a world caught in the grip of fear, events like 9/11, a possible bird flu pandemic, and even the recent terrorist attack attempts in London and Glasgow have exposed us all to paralyzing realty that we are not always safe.

We of course respond by doing our best to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We put alarms in our homes, lock our doors and windows even governments have tried to do their part by passing new laws increasing military spending and beefing up border and airport security. Personally when I was a soldier I carried a bigger weapon and wore thicker body armour in an attempt to keep safe. I soon realized though that nothing I did gave me 100% protection until I clothed myself in the armour of God. God will never let any of our enemies harm us when we put our faith in him. Remember what the psalmist wrote:

Faith in God is our  protection from the evil of this world.
