No Other Name Given
4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
We have all heard it said from time to time by numerous religious people that there are many paths to God. All one has to do is seek out a spiritual path and pursuit it diligently and it will lead you to god, so we are told. The idea that we are traveling down a mysterious spiritual journey seeking for the higher power within, captivates the hearts of many willing yet unlearnt individuals, leading them down a road of destruction.
Of all of the many paths that one can journey on for his/her pursuit to god, the New Age Moment has become one of the most powerful and influential in our day. And we all know and have heard of the great and influential Opra Whifrey. On one of her shows she had made the claim that one of the biggest mistakes humans make is to believe that there is only one way. Actually, there are many diverse paths leading to what you call God." Sadly, however, many of her fans believe her every word and follow her teachings and beliefs as if it was gospel truth.
There are many famous New Agers in the entertainment industry, like Opra Whifrey who has strong influence on their fans and followers as well, teaching of searching for the god within themselves; the higher power which, they believe, will deliver them of their struggles and pains. Unfortunately this world is caught up within its fascination of self-fulfillment and gratification, love, happiness and power, seeking Sex, Drugs, Financial Power and Influence as means of apprehending satisfaction. Let’s not forget the Pride of life, an expression of man’s massive ego, claiming he is a god.
But, on the other hand, real truth is unfolded and opened unto us via the Word of God. The proclamation of the Gospel of Christ disseminating throughout the world is that Christ Jesus is man’s only true hope of Salvation, rather physical or spiritual. Every need of man is fulfilled or completed in Jesus the only begotten Son of God.
In Acts 4: 12, the apostle Peter delivers a profound massage of certainty and urgency stating that for mankind to be saved, to be delivered from his sin; to be passed over in the Day of God’s Judgment and to be forgiven for his trespasses, he must come to Jesus; for there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved; that’s a fact.
Jesus is our Salvation and our Hope.

Another amen for ya, JR! This is a very evangelistic message. For all our differences, it's amazing that we all agree on the ONE source by which all mankind is saved. This has to be tremendous evidence to unbelievers that there's truth to the claim!

Lara,
the joy of knowing that we have been saved is a great relief from trying
to find a self-fulfilling mean that would rid ourselves of our struggle to satisfy or mend
our problems (sin problem). Praise be to God for in Him we have peace on earth and
have been reconciled to God through Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus is our ANSWER.

Thanks for your comments. And your are soooo correct. There is only one answer
to our struggles in life, Christ Jesus. For it is written in Scripture that Jesus said, "I am
the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Matthew 7:13-14 and Luke 13:24 tell us in no uncertain terms that narrow is the way, (strait is the gate) and broad is the way that leads to destruction. Those who are wise in their own eyes view the way to God as some type of “make it up as you go along” way and unfortunately, they will be the ones kicking and screaming just as the people of Noah’s day did when the flood waters started to rise. For those who have ‘ears to hear’, Jesus is the answer, as you stated, JR, in Acts 4:12. A big AMEN to that!!!! :) |

Linda-Great points!
I agree. The lost do have a huge void in their life that they are trying to fill
in their own way. But blind as they are; they could never find the way to God.
It takes God to open their eyes and lead them out of darkness into light. And Jesus
is the way, the truth and the life for all mankind.
