As I look outside, it's beautiful!!!! Ice and sleet covers everything. Farther north of us, it's devastating. Hollywood is without power, my son hasn't had power except for 3 hours since day before yesterday. There is over 100, 000 ppl without power. Hollywood's husband's cousin is a utility worker. A pole snapped with him on it last night. Praise the Lord he wasn't electricuted. But, he fell and was in surgery last night. They are saying the populated areas may get power back in two to three days.....a week for less populated. Son said all day yesterday, it sounded like shotguns going off when limbs and trees gave way to the ice. We are pretty well shut down here too....but thank you Lord, we do have electricity. Please be in prayer for all those who don't. Here's our local news slideshow of the ice http://www.flickr.com/photos/34779884@N02/show/ |

| If I read your blog correctly Cinder's. Branches on trees sounding like limbs snapping because of the ice? I can't imagine it! My thoughts are with everyone affected by it, OK? Take care. |

We went through this here in 2000, no electricity for a week. Yes, when the branches break from the ice, it sounds like a shotgun.....also transformers blowing........ Just talked with our son, his town was ground zero according to the news for damage. Thank you Lord he has a gas insert in his fireplace. He was raised to be a survivor, plus his military training.......so other than cabin fever with 4 kids in the home, they're ok. We are basically stuck in the house......don't think we could get the car out of the driveway and it's covered with ice and sleet. They said on the news had our temps been 3 degrees colder, we would have had 4 inches of ice! Snow is wonderful......but ice is just flat out damaging.......they're talking now that it may be Saturday before most ppl get power back. |

Thanks everyone so much. We're fine here, but where Hollywood and my son is......NOT good. They said had we had temp three degrees colder here, we would have had 4 inches of ice....that's NEVER happened before. Thank You Lord it didn't happen :) Our roads are clear, I just took mom home. She'll be back tonight to spend the night, because with ice storms sometimes the limbs break as it thaws.....so we're still not completely out of the woods, yet. It's still snowing here, too. |

| I saw this on tv and our area went through this in 2001. We were without power for about 10 days. It was awful.............
The sign of the times are definitely here.
It was 8 degrees here last week - today the high is 60. |

| Have you all in my prayers, this storm has been terrible. We weren't hit nearly as hard as some others. I really feel ashamed of myself, because my biggest complaint is I'm stuck in the house! We at least have electricity. Sometimes I forget to give thanks for what I have. |

CindyLou, am praying for all who are affected by these storms, in the name of Jesus. I praise the Lord that the utility worker was not killed. Also praising Him, that you have electricity. Take care. Love & hugs |

| Praying for you all. We have snow here, lots of it, and a layer of ice in there too. This storm really dumped quite a bit! But fortunately, we have not lost power...thank you Lord! We have had the ice thing before, and such destruction it causes. I know some people in this area were without power more than a week when that storm hit a few years back. |

| Apparently LaTonya lasagna and fam have power, but almost no one else. The favor of the Lord, but certainly, this stinks. This is too cold. So yeah, totally with ya'll praying for the Lord to do some supernatural things to keep ppl warm and to keep the workers safe and may the power be back on ASAP. |

I was reading about the outages. I'm glad they have power now. Praying for everyone... we had ice falling last night and no school today. There are patches of it on the road, not much left. We just don't get much of that.

Joey: We had it like they did, I think it was in 2000, it was horrible. Thanks for praying :) Two years ago we flew to Atlanta.....we got bumped on flight due to ice......got into Dallas, it was nuts, LOL.....it ended up taking us 3 days to get to Atlanta....could have driven it in 13 hours! |
