Beloved, I know those of us who are serving the Lord are being hit on every front. I want to encourage you today to stay in the fight because you are on the winning side. If satan can distract you he will, if he can depress you he will, If he can cause a spirit of offense he will. You do not have to receive what he is trying to give you. If satan can paralyze you he will, and he knows your weaknesses and the things that disturb you. He is your enemy if you are serving The Father, he hates God and you! Don't give up, there have been many times that I felt like going what's the use and giving in to my feelings, that's precisely what satan is trying to get you to do. The Father says that you are more than a conqueror, so what does that mean? You need something to conquer to be more than a conqueror right? So get out there and conquer! God will back you up if you trust Him and if your heart is right. Remember the story of Joseph when he ran from Potifers wife? He said I cant sleep with you I would be sinning against God. So what happened? Potifers wife framed him and said that Joseph tried to rape her, she was insulted that Joseph wouldn't sleep with her, she didn't care about Joseph or the God that he served and loved. Joseph went to prison for a long long time for something that he didn't even do. Actually he went to prison for serving God, what's up with that? I often asked God why. I said God Joseph should have just enjoyed the sin, he had to go to prison for obeying you? He didn't even sleep with her and you let him go to prison. I had questioned God for years concerning this season in Josephs life. God isn't afraid of our questions, and last summer I got my answer. As I was doing my devotion one spring day on my porch this scripture leaped off the page to me ( Psalm 105: 16-19) The Lord was testing Josephs character!!! Wow God is not a respecter of any person and if He tests Josephs character He will test ours!! Joseph obviously passed his test. Now my beloved I think you know where I am going with this. Are we greater than Joseph and don't think that we need our character tested? God is checking us out to see what we are made of and looking to see if we can be trusted and used by Him. I don't know about you but I want to pass all my tests from my Father. If you read about Josephs life in Genesis chapter 37 through to Genesis chapter 50 you will see that the Father sent Joseph on this special mission to save not only his own family but 2 nations. Joseph himself said to his brothers who betrayed him Don't be afraid of me, as far as I am concerned, God turned into good what you meant for evil. He brought me to the high position I have today so I could save the lives of many people. ( Genesis 50: 19) In all your distress and feelings of discouragement or abandonment what is it that God is planning for you? What assignment does God have you on? Just because you feel like God has abandoned you doesn't mean that He did. Joseph in that prison must have felt like God abandoned him, the story would have had a different ending had Joseph gotten bitter or into a what about me pity party. Look how many people would have been affected, even his own family. Start looking at things from Gods perspective and ask Him about it, He's not afraid of your questions. Maybe God has big plans for you to be used in a most awesome way and He is preparing you for the journey. God never promised that our lives here would be comfy and cozy all the time. Jesus said pick up your cross and follow me. I could share tons of verses that talk about trials and perseverance, but I like this one 1 Peter 1:7 These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, and your faith is more precious to God then mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring YOU much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. James 1:2-4 Says dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is TESTED, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed you will be strong in character and ready for ANYTHING. So we are in the school of God and let us bear one another's burdens and weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who are rejoicing. We truly need one another, and I thank God for each and every one of you. Now get your bridal outfit on and your combat boots and lets get plowing for the Father. Love and Shalom Sister Patty xo <>< |

I know some people, even some budding Christians, are offended by the word "tested". They feel that if God created them and have known them since before they were born, He should know their character - that they are a good person, so why should He need to test them? After all, Joseph was already receiving dreams from God, why did he need to be tested further?
God is refining us constantly, to make us shine. He knows our hearts and what fire we are capable of bearing, so that we will be better able to reflect His love. Verses that you mention like 1 Peter 1:7 are to encourage us through the fire. Anyone who thinks they are already perfect is most likely wrong. |

Yes Margo, you have nailed it!
I am so thankful it is Warrior Bride's birthday to get me back to this blog. The Bride is a word being used in so many ministries currently. I am seeing it over and over. I believe our Bridegroom is coming soon.
