| Do not despair: Economy |
|

"See momma," her young voice echoed from the back seat of the car "God does take care of me."
Her matter-of-fact tone left me baffled as I searched for what my daughter was talking about today, "Well honey, what do you mean by that?"
"I put my stick of gum in the offering plate on Sunday." She quipped.
Tickled, my reaction came with a hint of laughter, "You DID!"
"Yeah, and now momma," as she is getting excited in her voice and demeanor, "God gave me back my gum...just look!!" She handed me my pack of gum out of my purse.
As a momma, I melted. As an adult I began to pray again to Jehovah. God has never let His children beg for bread. Just yesterday, we had a loaf of out-dated bread that was gifted to us from an elderly lady, the rest of the bread we broke up into small pieces and gifted to the birds in the back yard. God has kept us closely by His side for many years. Will He not continue. Isn't He the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
I lost my job again due to the economy after the first of the year. God has kept us tucked in tight to His side. We have never been hungry, thirsty, or cold. We have a roof over our heads and food on the table. Yes, even in desperate times, God is big enough!
A friend of mine gifted me enough money to pay for my bills last month. The items in my storage shed will remain for another month. I bought food and a few incidentals. I cried. His gift was unknown to me until he asked me...THAT is God!! Please share what God has given you with those who need help right now. We have three families living in this one house right now. God has provided. God will continue. The jobs open are not the one I want nor in the field I want, but I am not prideful...pride comes before a fall.
Share so that not one of you will be poor.
As Ash and I drove today to wash the car, take a few items to storage and check on my property there, I saw some 'Hiring' and 'Taking Applications' signs....I will be there tomorrow. Over the past few days I have sent out many e-mails with cover letter and my resume' attached. I have even applied for jobs out-of-state. Just like in Matthew, God feeds the birds, just how much more important are you? Also, the birds had to go find the food and dig for worms...we are called to not be complacent in our walk, go and see...find what doors God is opening for you. It may just be that God wants to move you into a new field. Maybe God needs you to witness to this employer. Maybe God has a pay-raise and a desk job waiting for you. Go, be child-like with a fresh heart, and find what God has for you. Put on the yoke of Christ...for it is easy and light.
11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
I too just placed my last dollars in the offering plate on Sunday. 10% is out of my realm, but God looks at the heart...may my widows penny be an offering to God. God doesn't need our money, God needs our heart to be right with Him as our Provider. Then, we gladly give and God uses the money {man's made up system} to help others. Be the hands-and-feet for Jesus in these economic times.
Would you pray for those who lost their jobs...many are desperate, go out and pray with those that lost their jobs...it does not cost any money to walk door to door and pray.
In His Service,

Amen! I remember a few years ago my husband too was looking for a job and one sunday morning one our Elders was praying with him and God laid upon his heart to give my husband some money, God had told our Elder of the church to sell some things and give the money to someone in need. Well that morning we had no money for gas or groceries our friend gave my husband $100.00 Praise God for His goodness |

| Amen Cathy, even with so many people loosing their jobs, God is Big enough...and through His Children's obedience many can be reached at this time. This is a time even to where their hearts would not be open to the truth of Christ. May we be Obedient!~ |

| Well, God looked after Elijah in the midst of a terrible draught, and when one brook dried up (literally), God moved him on to "another". Ravens then the widow. So you're right: what have we to fear? we either believe His word, or we don't. |

| Praying for all who need jobs, including myself. God is our Provider. I took early social security, however, it really isn't enough to live on. I haven't worked since Dec '07 & somehow (well we know He can do anything) the Lord has made the money stretch. God has a job for you Cheryl - just maybe this is your time to rest. God bless you & your family. You are such an inspiration to me & I daresay to many, many others. |

| I find sometimes God allows us to "sweat it out" and delivers us at the very last second, so that it will build our faith and trust...or is it only me and hubby He does that to????? lol |

| I like the sweating it out bit that Lara mentions. Its to test you out that you're really into what you believe in. Sometimes God takes you right to the edge, then when you're about to quit, BINGO! Its a bit like the potter and the clay. He pummels you, reshapes you - and makes you into something you wasn't before. But its that pummeling bit that tests you out. |
