Dear Cheryl and everyone,

Sounds like you're doing the correct thing!  You might try encouraging yourself in the Lord by re-reading those parables of Jesus that talk about the provision of the Father for birds and the grass of the fields, etc.  :-)  That way you won't be tempted to think that those realities are something we have to talk God into.  :-D  When we don't have work we still have a job: find new work.  :-)  Just follow the peace and walk through the open doors sis!

With respect to your friend we know that it is God's will to destroy the works of the Devil, that we are healed by the scourging of His dear Son, and the ability of God is never in question.  I really don't know exactly how to pray so I'll lift her up in the spirit.  We know that it is not God's will that she perish, that's the most important thing to Father!  We also know that it can be really hard to be honest in these situations.  I hope that your friend spent her life building upon the firm foundation of Christ's word because it's really hard to build it in the midst of a storm…but all things are possible with God (and those who believe)!   The only other thing that personally concerns me when praying for these desperate situations is whether God can heal her.  God was in Christ doing the works (Acts 2) but could do nothing in Jesus' hometown.  It wasn't God's fault that all were not healed and many miracles weren't done there!

So with those sobering thoughts in mind I am going to lift her before our God and Father…but I'm very particular about coming away from that with a very definite expectation that I have received what I've prayed for, when I pray, and that it will therefore be granted.  My exhortation to all of us, who will pray for this, is that we must have more faith in God that we do in stage 4 cancer!  I'm always reticent to ask people to pray for me because it's been my experience that folks really believe in the problem more than the solution!

All that being said, and I don't get a definite word from the Lord, I am going to pray:

1)      That she will hear the good news if she hasn't

2)      That she will come to a change of mind with respect to what kind of foundation she's built her life on if she needs to and will be forgiven if she hasn't

3)      That Jesus will receive the fruit of his suffering in her body and therefore be glorified in it.

my next door neighbor's mom, who is also part of a pastoral couple of our sister church, had stage 4 cancer, no pain, no weight loss, and the doctors were stunned...and she is cancer free with NO treatments; only prayer. so yes, He is able!

I shall pray that your friend receive healing, in the name of Jesus and that your days of unemployment are numbered.  The job you get will be where GOD wants you to be and when HE wants you to be.  So do continue to wait and pray!  He hears your prayers and will supply your needs as you have already been witness to. 
GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! 

So glad things are starting to open up for your job.  Praise the Lord.  Will continue praying for you & for your friend, in the name of Jesus.
