| "When we get to Heaven..." |

I was reading "My utmost for his Highest" by Oswald Chambers today. He always gets me to look at things at a different angle. The particular subject was "The Spiritual Sluggard" Oswald writes: "The danger of spiritual sluggishness is that we do not wish to be stirred up, all we want to hear about is spiritual retirement. Jesus Christ never encourages the idea of retirement."
I am one that is excited to finally see heaven. And why not. It will be Like nothing we have ever seen or heard... swhew. But much in the same way the world looks forward to their retirement portfolio, endless days fishing, or riding around the country in a travel trailer, we as believers concentrate on our spiritual retirement a bit too much. Our earthly retirement Portfolio requires consistent investment and a watchful eye as insurance that it will not fail. In Jeremiah 1:12 the lord says he is watching to see that his word is fulfilled. Our spiritual retirement does not have to be watched over by us. We have assurance of Gods retirement plan which was set up through our Lord and Savior.
Im not trying be Mr profound or anything so lets get that straight. I Just think we are so Blessed in that we retired from our old life, which was hard work in itself, we are now charged to do the work set before us who love the Lord. We get to help the hurting and lost.( of which we were at one time) We get to give people the vision of assurance and Spiritual retirement while they are leaning on their insufficient worldly vision of what retirement is. The lord has made us fishers of men so we get to work and fish to our hearts content until our PROMISED retirement comes. WOW
Let me know what you think. If you feel you should do so forward this to somebody.
Blessings,
