What I really appreciate about Paul is his ability to admit the reality of his circumstances. His faith in God did not mean he had to make his situation sound rosy. But, in the midst of this great trial he knew who to rely on. We have faith in God... the one who raises the dead. I know I can't raise the dead... I know my husband can't... in fact, I can't think of anyone besides God who can! So, why do I try to handle everythink by myself or put too high expectations on someone else. Just another reminder of who God is and what He is capable of doing!

1:8 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of the affliction we experienced in Asia; for we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself. 1:9 Why, we felt that we had received the sentence of death; but that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead;

2 Corinthians 1:8-9

I am learning the fine line here myself. I hear that life and death is in the power of the tongue and I have to be careful about what I say as it glorifies satan if I focus on what is going on in warfare against our family but seek prayer from seasoned saints and need to say so. Thank you sister, we are only able in His strength and we should be asking in prayer for help which comes from the Lord.
