| Imitating Christ |

There was a blog that had me thinking by Craig aka EarthenVessel:
http://www.mychurch.org/blog/386028/The-Author-and-Perfector-of-our-Faith-not-just-with-words"Many Christians get completely burned out trying to be, in themselves, like Jesus rather than learning to expect Jesus to be like Himself through them". Do you try to rely on you own self instead of allowing Him to be Him through you? Imitation without the heart runs a poor second and it potrays a falseness. He knows our heart even when we are masquerading Christ-like behaviors. He knows when we are pretending to be nice to someone when we really don't like them. When we do a good deed expecting to be applauded for it. He knows when we gossip or befriend people for our own benefit. Every secret that you don't present to the world, He knows. Who are we trying to fool? Paul tells us that there is nothing good in us, not one thing. We are compared to the filthy rags of their time. Those rags were discards from lepers; diseased and had a horrible stench. 15I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. 17So then it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. 18For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. 19For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. (Rom. 7:15-19)
We need to have a heart for God, a faith in Him and allow ourselves to die (submit) so that He may be glorified through us. Pray that you will be emptied and filled with Him so that He can be Himself through you instead of trying to do it on your own.
