| Need prayer for car accident victims |
|
| |
Unfortunatley, I have some sad news. If any of you read either of my blogs about Buenos Aires (here and here) then you heard me talk about Marcelo Robles and his church La Mision. Unfortunately, he, his wife Miriam, their young daughter Vicky, and one other woman named Graciela were in an awful car accident last night and are all lucky to be alive. They were traveling from Buenos Aires to Uragray when they had an accident and apparently their car rolled over several times. They are unfortunately not all doing well. - Marcelo broke some bones in his face and is having surgery that could impair or limit his vision in one eye. He also broke both of his arms.
- Miriam, his wife was injured even more severly. Last I heard, she is being kept unconscious, but her vitals are stable. She's having surgery today for some internal damage. She suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs. She also has a broken and/or displaced hip and she broke her tibia in one of her legs.
- Graciela's condition is similar to Miriam's and she has also been unconscious.
- Thankfully, and miracously, little Vicky is almost totally fine. She's just under observation for some bruises she suffered from her seat belt.
I'd ask that if you're reading this blog to please pray for Marcelo, Miriam, Graciela, and little Vicky. They could really use some more prayers right now.
Here is a picture of Marcelo:
...and then one of Miriam and Vicky:
Thank you very much for your prayers...

| Lord, Please touch these folks with your healing touch as only you can. Send your saints to minister to them and their family in this great time of need. Perform miracles in their lives, like we have seen with some of the other people on this site who we have prayed for. In Jesus' Name, Amen. |

First - thank you so much for everyone who has lifted up a prayer for all those affected by the car wreck.
Second - thanks to my new friend Dan who has provided some updates about all those involved.
Basically the situaton is that Marcelo and Miriam had successful surgeries and are healing now. It looks like both of them are going to be okay. God most certainly should be praised.
Graciela still needs lots of prayer and her situation is worst and I still haven't heard if she has regained consciousness. Dan's post said that she's had bleeding in her brain so definitely continued prayer for her is needed. Again, thanks for your prayers and for your posts.
When I think about you all a verse comes to mind: 22:28 "You are those who have continued with me in my trials; Peace to you all, Justin

Our friends at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis are providing regular updates of the Robles accident. Thankfully, Marcelo and Miriam are now doing much better and are going to be alright, but will have a long recovery. Praise God! Please continue to pray for Graciela as her condition hasn't seemed to change. You can stay updated here. Also, the Redeemer Church Planting Center has posted a video of Marcelo on part of Redeemer's website. We did it so those praying for him could learn a little more about him and his church. A lot of the footage and pictures came from my visit with him in May.
Thanks for your continued prayers. |
