Generation Top chef


On the exciting Show “ Top Chef” you have Chef’s from all over the world competing for money , prizes and the most coveted “ Top Chief”!


I love this show because I love food and I love to cook, I gain so much insight on flavors , herbs and spices. “ There is so much that sometime I’m not able to keep up” because of all its variety (MUCH LIKE THE CHURCH)


IF you were to take a look at this generation of Churches , you may notice, (VARIETY) So many ingredients you can hardly keep up!

IT seems the ( CHURCH HAS BECOME LIKE TOP CHEF) “ Competitive”

Pastors and leaders trying to compete for “TOP CHEF OF THE CHURCH)

We don’t seem to realize that there is but one “TOP CHEF” (JESUS) “ HE is the one with the perfect ingredient”



Jesus tells us that we are to feed the Flock of God, And he has given us all the right herbs and spices that are to be implemented into the dish ( THE CHURCH) but as I look and hear, it seems many are adding their own flavors.

I know that we are all coveting (HEAVEN) and the Bible tells us How we are to get to that wonderful place, I can remember when (THE TOP CHEF JESUS) gave me those ingredient so long ago, I tasted the delight of life and have savored that taste every since.
 

In that recipe he said Repent, believe , and accept (HIS INGREDIENTS), and than he told me to use those same ingredients to add flavors to those in need of the spices of life. ( MATHEW 28:16-20) “I have never deviated from those ingredients” And nor should you!

When we Change the ingredients we can no longer taste the sweetness of Jesus! , And we began to get into competition of who’s “ TOP CHEF”

This is a problem because "it’s not your Kitchen!"

You are not top Chef!


USE THE INGREDIENTS YOU WERE GIVEN OR YOU WILL MAKE THE POT (CHURCH) A MESS!

JESUS IS THE TOP CHEF -DON’T FORGET IT! THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION!

Just a couple nights ago, I was reading, then re-reading that passage of scripture of when Jesus washed His diciple's feet.  so if we wanna be great, then go serve others; do stuff that you may think is 'below you.' well, that's the very stuff Jesus would have you do!  He is our Lord and Master, and yet He set that clear example out for us.  we want to be great? then we gotta humble ourselves and wash stinky feet.

Yes, Jesus is the Top Chef. The Top Chef cooking show is one of my favorites also. I will never think of it the same.

Hey Keith, we have a show here called "Iron Chef" which I love! I don't like the American version but the original one in Japanese with English overdubbing. This show become so popular that now they do an American version.  Is the "Top Chef" a different show?

More on point now with your teaching, I totally agree with you that there should be no competition to be Top Chef in the church. But many church leaders and people in the fellowship of believers have become tainted and influenced by the world. They follow the world's standards on what it takes to be successful and seek after positions with titles and status. I'm not saying that is all bad as I believe God gives us talents and wants us to be the best that we can be at whatever we do, but only with Him in it and at the centre and for His glory, not ours, and certainly not for worldly purposes.

In Matthew 22 we learn about the top two commandants:

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This tells me that love and service are requirements in both church leaders and christian believers. (Ditto to Lara's comments)
