God is not slack concerning His promises. Ps.145:13

Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God is able to deliver them out of them all. Ps.34:19

By His stripes we are healed. Is.53:5

You are blessed in the city, blessed in the field. Deut.28:3

The promises of God are yes and amen but only to those who stand in right relationship with Him. You cannot be sitting on the fence dangling you legs and expect to go "boldly before the throne" and have your requests granted. Many today are not in right relationship with the Almighty (and I am not just speaking here of sinners) yet they continue to expect God to meet their needs and desires.

When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we, in essence, become married to Him. Remember, the church is the bride and Christ is the bridegroom. We have an obligation - a duty - to remain faithful to Him. To perform our duties without delay and without hesitation for He is our head, our Lord. Yet, many today have taken secret lovers and are openly committing adultery!

Exodus 20: 2-6 :" I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that me: And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

Thus, He established the parameters of our relationship with Him. He was to be the only one we reverenced and gave ourselves to. He is our God and we are His people, there is to be no separation and no following another. This relationship is much like a marriage.

Jeremiah 3: 6-8 declares, "The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me, But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not; but went and played the harlot also;" Here, the Lord establishes that He is our husbandmen for He declares that because Israel committed adultery He divorced them. They were His people, His wife.


Many today are playing the harlot. Entertaining secret lovers believing they can continue on in the face of God and man yet I say, be not deceived God is not mocked whatsoever you sow that also shall you reap! That which you believe you are cloaking (hiding) is a glaring blemish not only to God but to those true servants He chooses to reveal it to.

Secret Lovers....abusing your body with drugs, alcohol, premarital and/or unnatural sex. Idolizing your car, money, house or other material possessions. Never developing your full potential and hiding the talents God blessed you with. Denying God every time you are ashamed to admit that you are a Christian in public. Neglecting to study the word and pray but knowing every episode of your favorite television show or every word to the newly released popular R&B song.

Secret Lovers kill, steal and destroy the body and spirit. They rob you of any chance at having a fulfilling relationship with Christ and becoming all that you were created to be in Him. Once we accept the hand of our Lord and become His bride we must don the whole armor as it tells us to in Ephesians for thereby the enemy knows that we are married to Him and fully suited up to do battle. Then, we must declare imminent domain to take charge of our temple. We must declare our bodies holy unto the Lord and off limits to anything unlike Him and kick out any intruders. And last, we must be transformed by the renewing of minds daily and we must produce heirs (win souls).

Know this, Christ is returning for a people without spot or blemish (this according to Ephesians 5:25-27) therefore we must sanctify ourselves and remain pure for no man knows when He shall appear. Understand this, it takes more than the ten commandments to walk through the pearly gates. God planted commands and precepts throughout His word and standing at judgment declaring that it was "just a part of your nature" or that it was good enough for your parents won't get you in. Mature into this, the only way to wear white as the bride of Christ is to be washed in the blood! This process is wonderful, transforming, painful and will alienate you from things you may not want to be without yet must let go of in order to please your bridegroom. Whatever the cost, He is perfectly capable of making it well with your soul and letting peace reign within you.

Let ALL secret lovers go for there is no room in your life for them and Christ too!
