When we read the Word of God and we don't come away changed, something is wrong.  The Word of God is living, breathing, active, penetrating. It wields itself at a two-edged sword, cutting between the truth and the lies in our lives. It cuts through the deception and the blindness (if we let it!) The problem is that some of us don't want it to,and won't let it do what it was sent for. God is into transforming us more and more into the image of Christ. He knows our hearts better than we know it. His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts higher than our thoughts.  Where can we go that He is not there. NOWHERE, THAT'S WHERE!  When we open the Word, pray first that God would use it as a two-edged sword and cut through all that hinders it from accomplishing that for which it was sent; to cleanse and free us and give us the liberty to walk in ALL His ways.
