1:17 And Jehovah prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Last night Tammy's Lesson was on Jonah.. Kinda.. This is a Tabbie lesson, not a Tammy lesson.
Jonah Got swallowed by a great fish, whether it is a whale, and fish, or a large undersea ostrich it doesn't Matter. It was a great sized under water fish. Jonahs life wasnt great, it was pretty sucky at that time, in that moment. What kinda problems did he have just being inthe whale? Like the fact. I am sure it wasnt dry so he was probably a bit irritated from the wetness of his clothes. and the sand and muck that the belly had graciously provided him. The smell was probably less than romantic, and sometimes I bet a bit gastly. I am sure the great amount of other roommates Jonah had such as fish, sea weed, stomach acid and who know what else made this enviroment less than lovely. Of all the things that I am sure that was in that belly the one thing that I see the most was Jonah and God.
See even though Jonah had disobeyed, and was being irritated. God was still there. Sometimes when we disobey God, we become angry and we get easily agitated and irritated at the things that are in our life. The kids wont listen more than normal, The boss had a few more demands and we can pass it off as just us being angry at the situation but in our repentance we can look back and see that God made sure while we were walking in disobedience we were agitated enough to notice. Sometime we have to look past the amount of sand in our drawers to see that we have made a wrong turn into disobedience. I hope it only takes day in a whale to recognize the fish smell. |
