| Time To Change Your Plugs? |
|
| |
I became a Christian September 30, 1990. I prayed for God to give me a verse that was for me. It didn't happen immediately, in fact it wasn't until about a year later that He gave me this verse. I wrote it in the front of my Bible and on my heart. I knew people who had verses that were joyful, sooooooo cooooooooool..........and at times I didn't like the fact that God didn't give me one of those verses....but I asked and He gave! I had to break this verse down for myself and for me that meant a life application that I could relate to and other verses to go with it. This verse wasn't for Cindy who wasn't a Christian, it was for Cindy who is a Christian.............When I came to know the Lord, everything in my heart wasn't suddenly perfect......there was alot of junk that God had to live with in that heart, and still does at times. So, here it is.....my breakdown Spark plugs are essential in a car.....they're the fire, one of the three elements that are what makes a car run. Sometimes they don't spark right, and then you have problems with your car. They erode after a while. You can take them out and clean them, that's a temporary fix. But, new plugs is probably what's needed. So you take the old one out ( cleaning the junk out of your heart) and replace them with new ones( a clean heart). But there's still adjustments to be made because even though they're new, there's a gap that has to be set ( how well your heart is gonna run with God). The gap can cause the engine to still run badly or not run at all. Setting the gap too narrow can make the spark too small or weak...so no start......not enough fire. Setting the gap too wide is probably gonna cause it not to fire at all. (So your heart has been cleaned out of the junk, but once it's clean it needs the right stuff adjusted to work right.......like not thinking this is all I have to do, I don't have to pray, I don't have to read my bible, I'm fixed) Setting the gap wrong doesn't always show up at first......in fact, you might not even notice it, but the engine's power is reduced and fuel efficiency isn't good. (This is where reading the Bible, praying comes in, so our power is correct and the fuel burns right). So what are the signs you might need new plugs? 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, 5:21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. When new plugs are put in and the gap is set right, you get: 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. Just remember we ALL need our plugs changed throughout our Christian lifes. And only God can do this to a willing vessel, are you needing a plug change and your gap set? 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. |

Pictures like this make God's word much easier to understand. I've read that is partly why Jesus spoke in parables! So I guess that makes this a parable! |

| There was a time when people thought I was attacking them through my comments but there has been an obvious change in the way these same people are writing. I'm sure you know what I mean! There is a method to the madness! |
