So a couple of weeks ago I got to see my cousin Eugene, or Stinky for short. We call him stinky cause one time when we wuz kids we went to see the Easter Bunny at the Big Lots store; and Eugene stunk so bad that the Easter Bunny wouldn’t let him sit in his lap for a Polaroid shot. Times has certainly gone bye but some things never seem to change. Plus, he still holds a grudge when it comes to Santa, Chuck E Cheese, and the Easter Bunny… but that’s another story.
Anyhoo, Stinky is a real American redneck. He even has a redneck dog with real life buck teeth; which is so funny to look at that you’ll blow a snot bubble if you aint careful.
Well Stinky called me and said that his new job was bringing him close to my town and he wanted me to come visit him in support of his new career. Now all that know him realize that Stinky always claims to be “one step away from his big break” which usually amounts to being one hole-punch away from a free coffee at the Waffle House. But I thought I’d go see him anyway.
Side Note- Stinky got a job at some tiny little tent circus company that travels around for about 8 months out of the year. Upon seeing it, I quickly realized that this aint the big three ring deal that will be coming to a city near you. This circus company caters to the smaller areas like the Cricket County Farm Festival or the Ace Hardware Customer Appreciation Day. They are so small that the lions are actually dressed-up dogs with bad attitudes. But they did manage to get a couple of elephants for the show, which is Stinky’s area of expertise.
Stinky gets to follow behind the elephants and other animals with a large snow shovel during the performance and keeps the floor surface clean. Ya’ll should see him, he takes pride in what he does. He even gets to wear an Evel Kinevel style jumpsuit fully equipped with glitter and rhinestones. He’s a true pro.
Anyway, there’s more to this story but I’ll have to write it in another blog on another day. To sum it up, it was good to see him again… honestly.
P.S. Ya’ll keep in mind that God loves each one of you so much and He’s got so much in store for us if we will trust His Word and obey His Calling. I know this today more that ever before. God is so good!
Love to all,
Rich
